Rector of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov Yuri Altudov took part in the meeting of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov on the issue of transforming the Priority 2030 program. The key issue on the agenda was the issue of adjusting strategic projects, as well as the performance indicators of universities implementing the program of strategic academic leadership and applying for it. The program «Priority 2030» may be amended in accordance with new challenges, said the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov.

Priority 2030 is a program for all universities, not just the ministry. And today we are faced with the task of correcting it in terms of the changed conditions. We are talking about the content, key results, new challenges and limitations. Our answer is fundamental — the regulatory framework allows you to implement these changes. But we must approach them responsibly, not redo the program from year to year, but carry out internal adjustments in accordance with the new needs of the economy, science and education, ”said Valery Falkov, head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. The minister also noted the need for internal changes in the strategic projects of universities with a focus on technological and product logic. According to him, universities should make adjustments with the expectation of creating technologies and services that are in demand on the market today.

“We call strategic those projects that lead to the creation of a product that is used either within the university or by external organizations. Such a product is created by a team and forces the organization to carry out a series of structural and institutional changes, the result of which is the transformation of the university itself. That is why the adjustment of strategic projects is hard work, which must be approached responsibly and with a clear understanding of the target model of the university,” — said Andrey Volkov, scientific director of the Priority 2030 program. The head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science also drew special attention of the meeting participants to the rotation mechanism, which allows universities to change their status depending on the results achieved. According to him, the ministry, as a regulator, visited several dozen universities and formed an idea about the progress of the program.
