Preparatory department for foreign students of the Institute of International Education of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov carries out educational activities for the implementation of additional general education programs that provide training for foreign citizens to master professional programs in Russian. The preparatory department implements pre-university training of foreign citizens in the Russian language in the scope of the first certification level of Russian language proficiency TORFL-1 and academic disciplines in accordance with the training profiles, as well as for further education in educational programs at all levels of professional education: secondary vocational education, bachelor’s degree, specialist’s degree, master’s degree , according to the training programs for scientific and pedagogical personnel (postgraduate studies, doctoral studies).
Education at the preparatory department is conducted within the framework of five areas of training:
medical and biological (subjects studied: chemistry, biology and physics);
engineering and technical (subjects studied: mathematics, physics and computer science);
humanitarian (subjects studied: social science, history and literature);
economic (subjects studied: social science, history and mathematics);
science (subjects studied: mathematics, physics, chemistry).
The tasks of the preparatory department include: ensuring the socio-cultural adaptation of foreign citizens based on the introduction of the disciplines of the country study cycle into the educational process and the organization of extracurricular country study work, psychological and pedagogical assistance to foreign students.
Training takes place in groups of no more than 10 people. Classes are held 5 days a week for 6-8 academic hours a day. At the end of the academic year, students take exams in the Russian language, as well as in major disciplines. Upon completion of training, subject to successful mastering of the program and passing the final exams, they are issued a certificate of mastering an additional general educational program of pre-university training of foreign citizens of the established form, which entitles them to be admitted to any university of the Russian Federation in the relevant direction of training (profile) — «Certificate of pre-university training «.

Form of study: full-time Hours: 2376 hours Admission conditions At the preparatory department of the IMO KBGU, foreign citizens who do not speak Russian are preparing to study at the universities of the Russian Federation in Russian if they have national documents necessary for admission to the appropriate level of higher, professional and postgraduate education (for bachelor’s, specialist’s, master’s and postgraduate studies). The list of documents that must be submitted to the student at the Directorate of IMO KBSU: legalized in the prescribed manner in the country where this document was received, original documents on previous education, equivalent to documents on education of the Russian Federation with a list of subjects studied and grades (points) received on them; duly certified translation into Russian of a document of a foreign state on education and its annex (if the latter is provided for by the legislation of the state in which such a document on education was issued); the original medical report, certified by the official health authority of the state in which this report was issued, confirming that the student has no socially dangerous diseases and is not contraindicated in studying in the Russian Federation; a certificate (certificate) indicating that the listener does not have HIV infection; a copy of the passport with a translation into Russian, duly certified; copy of visa, copy of migration card; VHI policy for foreign citizens; two photographs 4×6 cm in size. In accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation, foreign listeners are guaranteed the rights and freedoms provided for by law. During the period of study, they enjoy the rights of KBSU students and perform the duties established for students by the Charter and internal regulations.
