A group of students and young scientists of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov took part in the IV International Summer School for Young Scientists «Modern information technologies for solving scientific and applied tasks / Computer technologies for scientific and applied tasks — CTST.2022». The school was held from June 29 to July 1, 2022 and was organized by the Information Center of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) at the North Ossetian State University named after K.L. Khetagurov.

The participants of the school were students from universities throughout the South of Russia, as well as students from universities in Kamchatka, the Far East, Western Siberia, on the basis of which JINR information centers operate. KBSU was represented by students and young scientists Dinara Sabanchieva, Alina Mashezova, Amirkhan Batyrov, Alim Nasipov, Azamat Zhambekov under the guidance of Zamir Kalazhokov, Associate Professor of the Department of Physics of Nanosystems at the Institute of Physics and Mathematics of KBSU.

The program of the school was very rich, it included round tables, lectures, master classes, tutorials, as well as cultural events and excursions. At the round table, which was held by the director of the JINR Information Center at SOSU Nelly Pukhaeva, with the participation of SONU Rector Alan Ogoev, Director of the Laboratory of Information Technologies named after M.G. Meshcheryakov (JINR) Vladimir Korenkov, as well as leaders and representatives of the JINR Information Centers of various Russian universities, the experience of the JINR Information Center in the South of Russia at SOSU was discussed, special attention was paid to expanding the range of areas of cooperation and involving the universities of the region in projects implemented at JINR. Zamir Kalazhokov spoke about the scientific successes of KBSU, thanks to which the university entered the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership program in 2021, about the scientific areas that are currently developing at Kabardino-Balkarian State University. Having informed the participants of the round table about the recently created neutrino laboratory at KBSU, about the Center for Collective Use «Physics of the Surface of Nanosystems and Technology of Nanostructures», as well as about the areas of study at the Institute of Physics and Mathematics: «Medical Physics», «Condensed Matter Physics and Astrophysics», » Physics of Cosmic Radiations and Space”, Zamir Kalazhokov noted that in cooperation with JINR in all these areas, the Institute of Physics and Mathematics of KBSU will be able to raise scientific research and the educational process to a higher level.

As a result of the round table, priority areas for cooperation between KBSU and JINR were identified. The participation of students and staff of our university in JINR international internships, in schools with the implementation of joint graduation qualification and dissertations, participation in projects implemented in JINR laboratories and complexes is expected. Director of the Information Technology Laboratory named after M.G. Meshcheryakova (JINR) Vladimir Korenkov emphasized that cooperation between the Institute and KBSU is undoubtedly important in terms of using the capacities of the university supercomputer, — Zamir Kalazhokov shared further plans for cooperation between KBSU and JINR. Cooperation between KBSU and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research has already begun. Thus, within the framework of cooperation, Saida Khachetlova, a postgraduate student of IPM KBSU, successfully undergoes an internship at the JINR Research Center at SOSU. Participants of the IV International Summer School for Young Scientists «Modern information technologies for solving scientific and applied tasks / Computer technologies for scientific and applied tasks — CTST.2022» received certificates, teaching aids and, last but not least, new useful contacts and scientific communication experience.
