Release date: 24.12.2022

Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov revived the tradition of holding a New Year’s ball. On December 22, 2022, the department for youth policy and educational work invited students and university staff to the assembly hall of the Faculty of Medicine to dance to classical ballroom music in a New Year’s atmosphere.

The first winter ball at KBSU was held in 2012 — this year, after a two-year break due to restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic, this beautiful costumed celebration took place for the ninth time. Dear friends — teachers, university staff and, of course, students! On behalf of the university administration, I am very glad to welcome you to this long-awaited holiday — the winter student ball. On the threshold of the new year 2023. Please accept my sincere wishes for new achievements, new victories in the coming year. And today, cast aside all your hesitations and doubts, and enjoy the long-awaited moment, — Ksenia Timofeeva, Director of the Support Center for Student Associations, Youth Programs and Projects of UMPiVR, opened the ball.

The ball began with a majestic polonaise, then waltzes began to spin: for KBSU employees, figured and comic with a game of trickle. It is worth noting that the students perfectly prepared for this classical ballroom program, largely thanks to the choreographer of the Callisto dance ensemble, Roman Romanikhin. In the assembly hall of the Faculty of Medicine that evening there were not only classical ballroom dances, but also choreographic competitions, the winners of which received prizes from the partners of the ball: certificates for photo shoots, barber shops, beauty boxes and much more.

For the participants and guests of the ball, the student of KITiE Milana Abidova, the student of IPPiFSO Leyla Zhangurazova and the student of SGI Marianna Kardova sang songs. At the end of the classic ball, according to a good tradition, the king and queen were announced; in 2022, they were Emir Khutoev and Diana Belimgotova. The crowned students performed a slow dance, which everyone joined in. The New Year’s ball ended with an incendiary disco.
