Director of the Institute of Management, Tourism and Hospitality Industry of KBSU Ramazan Ligidov said:

“The Department of Management and Marketing was created as part of the university’s Faculty of Economics in 1994 in response to the challenges of the time, when the country moved from a planned economy to a market economy. Professor Mikhail Balkizov, who headed it from May 1994 to January 1997, and Valentin Shevlokov, then dean of the Faculty of Economics, played a major role in the opening of the new specialty “Management”, organizing the recruitment of the first students and, accordingly, in the creation of the Department of Management and Marketing .
Over the period of 30 years of existence of the department, more than 2000 qualified specialists have been trained, including more than 30 candidates of science, most of whom work in the system of higher education and science.

Many of the graduates currently occupy management positions in state and municipal institutions, in science, education and in business structures both in the republic and in the country, and abroad. For example, KBSU alone currently employs about 20 people; in state, regional and municipal authorities — more than 50 people.”

Welcoming the meeting participants, acting KBSU Rector Yuri Altudov noted:

“The Institute of Management, Tourism and Hospitality Industry of KBSU is actively developing one of the priority areas identified in the region’s development strategy.
