The Minister Plenipotentiary for Education of the Embassy of the Republic of India visited KBSU

The Minister Plenipotentiary for Education of the Embassy of the Republic of India, Vinay Kumar Bathula Venkateshwar, paid an official visit to Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize himself with the educational and living conditions of Indian students and to expand bilateral cooperation in education.

The visit began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to KBSU Staff and Students Who Perished During the Great Patriotic War. Acting Rector of the University, Yuri Altudov, distinguished guest, representatives of the university administration, and students observed a moment of silence in memory of the heroes.

The delegation then proceeded to the main building, where they were treated to a presentation of the national communities – Russian, Kabardian, Balkar, Indian, and the United Community of Foreign Students. Representatives of the cultural centers of the indigenous peoples of Kabardino-Balkaria greeted the guests with live music and dancing.

During the business portion of his talks with KBSU Acting Rector Yuri Altudov and Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Vadim Lesev, the minister discussed the stay of Indian students and the possibility of increasing their enrollment at the university.

The diplomat then met with Indian students at KBSU. The students spoke about their studies, creative work, and participation in scientific conferences and festivals, and also asked the guest questions of concern.

The delegation was given a campus tour. The minister inspected the student dormitory, observing the high level of comfort, and visited the sports complex, the Center for Advanced Materials and Additive Technologies, the Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Medical College, and the KBSU Medical Academy Accreditation Center, equipped with the latest robotic simulators and virtual training equipment. The program also included a visit to the North Caucasus Scientific and Practical Center for Maxillofacial, Plastic Surgery, and Dentistry.

The official part concluded with a festive concert – a symbol of cultural unity. Songs were performed in Russian, Kabardian, Balkar, and Hindi, and student groups performed traditional dances, drawing thunderous applause.

The visit of the Indian Embassy delegation to KBSU marked an important stage in the development of bilateral educational dialogue. The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in deepening cooperation, expanding academic mobility, and implementing joint research projects. The university reaffirmed its commitment to being a reliable partner for Indian applicants, offering high-quality education and a comfortable environment for personal and professional growth.
