Tatyana’s day at KBSU: who wasn’t a student — wasn’t young!

Release date: 25.01.2023

Today, January 25, students’ day is celebrated all over Russia. The history of this holiday begins in the 17th century, when Empress Elizaveta Petrovna signed a decree on the establishment of Moscow University on January 25, 1755. In the Orthodox calendar, this is the day of memory of the early Christian martyr Tatyana of Rome, which is why it is called Tatyana’s Day.

In 1850, the All-Russian Emperor Nicholas I, by his decree, ordered to celebrate the date of the establishment of Moscow University as a student holiday. After the October Revolution, January 25 became the Day of the Proletarian Students, and then the holiday was gradually forgotten. It was only in the 1990s that it began to be revived. Since 2005, the celebration of Students’ Day has been resumed by decree of the President of the Russian Federation. Tatyana shared their impressions about studying at KBSU. Tatyana Vyshkvorok, 1st year student of the KBSU Pedagogical College:

«I am a student in the direction of «Tourism». Married, mother of two children, I work in the tourism industry and went to college to improve my professionalism. I am interested in the history, traditions, customs of the peoples of our region. I want our republic to develop and regain its former popularity. Congratulations to all students on the holiday! My wishes to students — do what you love! As they say, whoever was not a student was not young»!

Tatyana Tolmacheva, 4th year student of the Institute of Informatics, Electronics and Robotics:

«KBSU has been in the top 100 best universities in the Russian Federation in various ratings for several years. The presence of the necessary specialty, good hostels were for me the fundamental reasons for choosing KBSU as a place for higher education. If you really have a desire to get an education, it does not matter where you study, you will get it in any case to the extent that you are really interested in it. The specialty «Design and Technology of Electronic Means» opens up access to quite promising professions with a great reserve for the future, be it engineering or IT. At the time of entering the university, namely in 2019, she was far from being in all major universities in Russia».

Congratulations to all students on their holiday! We wish you energy, inspiration, love and good health!
