Programmer’s Day at KBSU
September 13, traditionally on the 256th day of the year, at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov celebrated the day of the most modern and demanded profession in the whole world — Programmer’s Day. The number 256 was chosen because it is the number of integers that can be expressed with one eight-bit byte, and it is also the maximum power of 2, which is less than the number of days in a year — 365
The Minister of Digital Development of the KBR Islam Ashkhotov came to share a professional holiday with students and teachers of the Institute of Informatics, Electronics and Robotics of KBSU, who, addressing future IT specialists, said:
XXI century is rightly called the century of information and informatization. I congratulate you on the occasion. You have chosen the profession you need most. The time has already come when no area of human life can do without a programmer. And in the future, a world of technological breakthroughs and new software development awaits you. Let a brilliant mind help you in solving problems of any complexity. I wish you new interesting projects and the implementation of the most creative ideas.
Students of IMEIR KBSU spent the evening at the «Boiling Point» similar to the TV show «Evening Urgant» and called it «Night Programmer». The «Night Programmer» was visited by the candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, head. Department of Neuroinformatics and Machine Learning (NIMO) of the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Automation KBSC RAS Larisa Lyutikova, director of the branch of the international computer academy STEP Alim Kanamgotov, head of the network equipment integration group at ITV Group Anna Lieva.
The guests talked about how they came to programming, about their professional development in this field.
So, Larisa Lyutikova graduated from Moscow State University in 1992, Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics. She defended her thesis in the specialty «Mathematical Modeling, Numerical Methods and Program Complexes».
As an artificial intelligence specialist, I believe that this is a human assistant. This is what we teach machines to help us,
— says Larisa Lyutikova. In her opinion, the time «H» has already come. Now there are programs that are quite successfully implemented in life, for example, in those areas where a person’s work is associated with a risk to life.
Alim Kanamgotov is sure that you need to start preparing programmers as early as possible, from childhood. This is exactly what the training in the international computer academy STEP is aimed at, the branch of which in Nalchik he heads.
Anna Lyutikova, an employee of ITV Group, addressing first-year students who have chosen the direction «Informatics and Computer Engineering»; «Applied Informatics»; «Information Security» urged them not to be afraid of difficulties, to be more persistent in achieving the goal.
You have to understand that there is a huge staff shortage in the labor market. This is a very promising job,
— she assured.
In honor of the Programmer’s Day, Natalya Cherkesova, Director of the IEEiR KBSU, Tatyana Khashirova, Head of the Department of Computer Technologies and Information Security of KBSU, and Rita Gurfova, Associate Professor of this Department, held an award ceremony for especially distinguished students.
May your passion for programming bear fruit. Study new programs, improve, improve your professionalism and may luck accompany you not only in your career, but also in life,
— Tatiana Khashirova admonished her pupils.
