And their colleagues at the Center Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Fundamental and Clinical Problems of Thrombosis in Noncommunicable Diseases Igor Yavelov and Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Center for Coordinating Fundamental Scientific Activities Anton Kiselev noted the importance of studying and organizing a monitoring system for tourists in mid-mountain conditions and highlands.
Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Management in Tourism of KBSU Artur Nasipov and adviser to the administration, head of the Department of Economics and Management in Tourism of KBSU Aksana Karasheva presented the results of a study on the state, problems and prospects of medical tourism in the KBR. Artur Nasipov drew attention to the factors that negatively affect the development of medical tourism.
«One of them is the issue of staffing. We are talking about the lack of specialists who have received professional training at the university to work in the field of medical tourism», — said Artur Zhabagievich.
The solution to this and other related problems, the expert noted, has become part of the project «Organization of an interregional expert and analytical platform to support projects and programs for the sustainable development of medical tourism, rehabilitation and balneology», carried out at KBSU as part of the program of strategic academic leadership «Priority 2030» . Further, some priority areas for their solution were listed: the opening of the program of additional professional education «Medical Tourism» on the basis of the Department of Economics and Management in Tourism together with the Medical Faculty of KBSU; the inclusion of a number of specialized disciplines in the working curricula for the training of specialists in the areas of «Medicine» and «Tourism»; introduction of new practice programs focused on the integration of tourism, medicine and pedagogy into the main professional educational programs of these areas of training; implementation by students of the areas of training «Tourism» and «Medical business» of joint practice-oriented projects commissioned by medical and health-improving and sanatorium-resort institutions. In response to a question about the areas of medical tourism that need to be developed in the KBR, A. Nasipov named dentistry, which, in terms of price-quality ratio, can compete with many federal centers, and this inspires optimism. He also said that it is necessary to develop a narrow specialization of sanatorium-resort institutions in those areas in which the region had a strong position in the Soviet period: gynecological, treatment and prevention of diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
In addition, tours of a gastronomic nature with medical support can be very popular in our southern zone of the country. A. Nasipov’s speech was highly appreciated by Anton Kiselev:
«I liked that in the report a lot of attention was paid to the educational aspect. In order to develop in the practical sector, you need to have personnel who will both understand the medical component and show an economic interest. The creative message is to combine the forces of different faculties at your university and develop a number of educational programs. In the structure of our National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine there is an institute of postgraduate education, where already established specialists-doctors of various profiles, including healthcare organizers, are trained. They could, as part of continuing education, take a course in specialized programs of KBSU, learning from local colleagues who have extensive experience in those areas that are typical for the region. Thanks to a more specific idea of the possibilities of medical tourism in Kabardino-Balkaria, the capital’s doctors of various profiles could recommend that patients visit your republic for the purpose of treatment, prevention and rehabilitation. I think that the issue of developing network programs or a joint training program is very relevant. And in this regard, the cooperation of KBSU and the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Russia will be mutually beneficial».
Elena Anishchenko, Head of the Laboratory of Service and Tourism of the KBSU, made a presentation «The gastronomic code of culture and health-saving technologies in the Caucasus: history and modernity», noting that the gastronomic code of the culture of the Caucasian peoples: moderation, lean production, balanced nutrition, home-cooked food, active lifestyle and social stratification of the meal. The conference participants were introduced to digital health-saving technologies in the field of tourism by representatives of the Saratov State Medical University named after V.I. Razumovsky Ministry of Health of Russia Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Atherosclerosis and Chronic Coronary Heart Disease of the Research Institute of Cardiology Olga Posnenkova and Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Director of the Research Institute of Cardiology Vladimir Gridnev. As a result of the online conference, a resolution will be prepared, which will include all the initiatives proposed during the event.
