KBSU increases efficiency indicators | GIVC monitoring

Release date: 01.11.2023

The results of the annual Monitoring of the performance of Russian universities in 2023 for 2022, carried out by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, have been published. Universities were assessed according to the following target indicators: “Educational activities”, “Research activities”, “International activities”, “Financial and economic activities”, “Teaching staff salaries” and “Additional indicator”.

KBSU is the only university in the North Caucasus Federal District that has successfully completed monitoring of the effectiveness of universities, achieving 6 out of 6 indicators. At the same time, growth continues in research activities + 32.2%, international activities + 15.8%, financial and economic activities + 10.9%, and teaching staff wages + 8.6%, where the ratio of professorial wages is assessed teaching staff to the average salary in the regional economy.

According to the criterion “International activity”, the ratio of the number of foreign students enrolled in bachelor’s, specialist’s, and master’s programs to the total number of students was assessed. The KBSU indicator is three times higher than the national average.

The indicator “Financial and economic activity” increased by 10.9%. This indicator reflects the renewal of the university’s material base — in 2023, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation supported the opening of a military training center at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov, as well as subject classrooms received high-quality equipment, which served as a good contribution to updating the modern educational environment for the practical training of future teachers. The value of the indicator exceeds the median value among universities in the country.

The situation is even better according to the criterion “Research activities”, the growth was 32.2%. Basically, the criterion evaluates the volume of research work per one scientific and pedagogical worker; the team of Kabardino-Balkarian State University successfully copes with this task — the indicator is growing steadily, showing increasingly high results. The increase in research indicators is largely due to the university’s participation in the Priority strategic academic leadership program for all three strategic projects of the university.

The final monitoring table for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) included 3 state universities. According to the study, in Kabardino-Balkaria most of the students study health care and medical sciences (a significant part at Kabardino-Balkaria State University), engineering, technology and technical sciences take second place, and social sciences take third place.

Congratulations to the staff, teachers and students of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov with high rates of passing the Monitoring of the Efficiency of Universities!
