Release date: 16.09.2022

On September 14, a master class on clinical psychology with the use of art therapy for students and teachers was held at the College of Design of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University. From this literally colorful event, the project for the prevention of psycho-emotional burnout «Live» was launched. The project was organized by the author of the project, clinical psychologist, lecturer at the College of Information Technology and Economics Alina Nakova and teacher of painting at the College of Design Irina Mambetova.

After getting to know each other and getting information, the 2nd year students of the design college in the “restoration” direction, who became the first visitors to the master class, told the psychologist that they had had a burnout syndrome back in school time and was progressing now. At such moments, I want to climb up to the blanket with tea and do nothing, the guys complained. They also explained that due to heavy workload, they do not allow themselves time for rest or respite.

“This project is leading for me, because I, too, at one time was both a burnt-out student and a burnt-out teacher, and I know how important it is and what right steps to take to pull myself out of this state. The tasks of today’s event are to teach teachers and students the right ways to relax, ways to relax. After all, art therapy is a method of light therapeutic practice, which can be carried out both independently and in cooperation with a psychologist,” — said Alina Nakova.

Under the strict supervision of teachers, the children received the basics of important breathing techniques of various levels, experimented and learned to express their emotions and stress with the help of a drawing. About how burnout occurs, how to deal with it, and most importantly, how to avoid it, the students were told what is called in the background while they were drawing their worst emotions on canvas. Particular attention was paid to the importance of prevention, thanks to which serious consequences can be avoided.

“Under the influence of the burnout syndrome, there may be a desire to leave the profession that you once loved, there is a loss of meaning and interest in life, apathy, in some cases there is a concomitant addiction: alcohol, drugs, gambling,” — explained Alina Erykovna. In the near future, also within the framework of the project for the prevention of professional burnout of teachers and youth «Live» in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, it is planned to launch a similar, more in-depth master class for KBSU teachers. And on Saturday, September 17, an open master class on art therapy for children and adolescents from 5 to 17 years old will be held on the terrace of the Sreda shopping center.
