Careful attitude in KBSU to the national culture is fixed in the Constitution of Russia

The core of the culture of any nation is the linguistic component. In KBSU, where citizens of 48 states study, the Kabardian language is studied by both Russians and Adygs from Turkey, Jordan, Syria, Israel, Lebanon, European countries, who are trained in various areas of training and specialties.

The state languages ​​of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic throughout its territory are Kabardian, Balkar and Russian. In accordance with this provision of the law, there are three national cultural centers at the Social and Humanitarian Institute of KBSU: Center of Adyghe culture named after A. Tsipinov, Center of Balkar culture named after K.S. Otarov, Scientific and Educational Center of the Russian Language and Culture.

The Center of Adyghe Culture of KBSU is part of the Department of the Kabardian-Circassian Language and Literature of the Social and Humanitarian Institute of KBSU, carries out scientific, pedagogical, cultural, educational, folklore and ethnographic activities.
Main functions: developing and conducting popular science lectures on the folklore and ethnography of the Adygs for students of specialized and non-core departments of the university; cooperation with teachers of the compulsory discipline «Mother tongue» at non-core departments of KBSU in compiling teaching aids, test tasks and reviewing them; holding folklore and ethnographic performances in places associated with memorable events in the history of the Circassians. ***

The study and popularization of the Adyghe language is facilitated by the International Circassian Association (Nalchik), with which KBSU cooperates. The President of the International Circassian Association Hauti Sohrokov is a member of the Board of Trustees of the KBSU.
Hauti Hazritovich is a member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Interethnic Relations, a member of the working group for the preparation of proposals for amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. There is his considerable merit in the adopted amendments that guarantee the right to preserve, study and develop the native language. Compatriots who have returned to their historical homeland are involved in all significant republican events — concerts, theater premieres and museum exhibitions.
For repatriates there are courses on the study of Russian and Kabardian languages, seminars on the history and culture of the peoples of the Russian Federation are held on an ongoing basis.
Since 2019, the international educational campaign «Total dictation in the native language» has been held with great success, in which students, teachers, and other employees of KBSU annually participate. Departments of the study of the Circassian language are open, for example, in the universities of Turkey. Among other specialists, teachers, scientists of KBSU contributed to this.

The official language of the Russian Federation throughout its territory is the Russian language as the language of the state-forming people, which is part of the multinational union of equal peoples of the Russian Federation.

Republics have the right to establish their own state languages. In public authorities, local governments, state institutions of the republics, they are used along with the state language of the Russian Federation.

The Russian Federation guarantees to all its peoples the right to preserve their native language, to create conditions for its study and development.

Culture in the Russian Federation is a unique heritage of its multinational people. Culture is supported and protected by the state.

The Russian Federation guarantees the rights of indigenous peoples in accordance with the generally recognized principles and norms of international law and international treaties of the Russian Federation.

The state protects the cultural identity of all peoples and ethnic communities of the Russian Federation, guarantees the preservation of ethno-cultural and linguistic diversity.

The Russian Federation provides support to compatriots living abroad in exercising their rights, ensuring the protection of their interests and preserving the all-Russian cultural identity.
