Release date: 14.03.2023

March 10, 2023 at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov held a ceremony of awarding certificates of completion of the additional general educational (general developmental) program «Fundamentals of Robotics» to students of educational institutions of the KBR. Students of grades 5-9 were trained on the basis of the innovative scientific and educational center «Mechatronics and Robotics» of the Department of Mechatronics and Robotics of the Institute of Informatics, Electronics and Robotics of KBSU.

As a result of mastering the program, the children learned the main and additional components of the Lego constructor; the basics of robot programming in the LegoEducationMindstorms EV3 program; special terminology, learned how to design robots for solving various problems; write programs with various algorithms; use the created programs to control robots, mastered the skills of working with the Lego constructor; skills in the LegoEducationMindstorms EV3 programming environment; robot programming skills in the internal language of the microcontroller.

The students will be congratulated by the deputy directors of IIE&R Ibrahim Nogerov and Hamidby Losanov, the head of the laboratory of INOC «High Technologies in Mechanical Engineering» Timur Kardanov, the head of the additional education center of IIE&R Beslan Shogenov, the teaching staff of the Department of Mechatronics and Robotics under the leadership of Hamisha Senov, students of the «Mechatronics and robotics».

At present, mastery of computer technologies is considered as the most important component of education, which plays a significant role in solving its priority tasks — in the formation of a holistic worldview, a system-information picture of the world, educational and communicative skills. The «Basic Robotics» program provides an opportunity to obtain additional education, solves problems of a developmental, ideological and technological nature, develops the outlook of schoolchildren and forms the foundations of engineering thinking. Models for production are selected taking into account the age characteristics, interests, and creative abilities of students; practical work is cognitive in nature, as it expands the general horizons, forms the general technical competence of students,

— Beslan Shogenov, head of the Center for Further Education of the IIEIR, commented on the directions of the program. In his greeting, the head of the Department of Mechatronics and Robotics, Hamisha Senov, noted that «Mechatronics and Robotics» is one of the most popular areas in the training of engineering personnel in the Russian Federation and is one of the priority engineering specialties adopted by a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation. He also wished the children further creative success and expressed the hope that in the future they will become students of KBSU.

In response, the parents of the students thanked the staff of the department for the high-level classes and expressed their desire to continue their education further as part of additional education in the field of robotics. In turn, the head of the Center for Children’s Education Beslan Shogenov invited schoolchildren to study in the following programs of additional education in the field of robotics, developed at the Department of Mechatronics and Robotics: «Fundamentals of programming in the Scratch environment», «Robotics», «Fundamentals of assembly, configuration and control of quadrocopters. Fundamentals of programming in the DroneBlocks environment.
