A wide range of issues of preventive medicine and rehabilitation were discussed at KBSU
October 26 at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University held an interregional round table in the online format «Issues of prevention, rehabilitation, balneology and medical tourism in the region» as part of the «Priority 2030» program.
The organizers of the event were FSBEI HE “Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov, National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the KBR, Ministry of Health of the KBR, Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia.
Opened the conference rector of KBSU, Professor Yuri Altudov, who noted the relevance of the topic under consideration, taking into account the priority tasks set by the President and the Government of Russia. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Research, Director of the Institute of Public Health, Healthcare and Humanitarian Problems of Medicine of the Saratov State Medical University made a presentation on «Digital health-saving technologies in the field of tourism as the main condition for cooperation of all stakeholder groups: the state, business, the scientific community and the population».
Razumovsky Alexander Fedonnikov and Anton Kiselev, Head of the Center for the Coordination of Fundamental Scientific Activities of the NMIC TPM of the Ministry of Health of Russia. The speakers spoke about the development and prospects of health tourism, about foreign experience in improving this area of healthcare.
«The regional cluster has significant potential in the field of medical and health tourism in Russia», — emphasized Alexander Fedonnikov.
The speakers especially noted the potential of health tourism in the KBR, associated with favorable climatic conditions and natural resources, and also indicated what needs to be worked on in order to realize this potential. The researchers devoted the second part of the report to the developments of the Saratov Medical University and the results of their use. «Psychological rehabilitation of military personnel and their families with post-traumatic stress syndrome» — the topic of the report of a clinical psychologist, speech pathologist, teacher of the College of Information Technologies of the KBSU, head of the «School of bifriending», winner of the national award «Civil Initiative», member of the public council for the protection of the rights of patients of the Ministry of Health of the KBR Alina Nakova.
The psychologist spoke in detail about the symptoms, dangers and diagnosis of PTSD. According to the World Health Organization, published in 2019, one in ten people who survive war or other military conflicts will develop a severe or moderate mental disorder. Such people need qualified assistance and long-term rehabilitation,” — Alina Nakova noted. On the issue of PTSD treatment, the speaker emphasized the importance of supporting the patient’s loved ones, and also demonstrated a treatment plan for the disorder and warned against mistakes that may occur during therapy.
Murat Umetov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Faculty Therapy of the KBSU, Chairman of the Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Medical Society of Therapists, presented a report on the topic «The role of KBSU in improving the effectiveness of the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases and rehabilitation in the region», who analyzed the current statistics of mortality from diseases in CBD and emphasized in it the special role of COVID-19 as a trigger for diseases of the circulatory system.
Murat Anatolyevich considers it necessary to recommend that all those who have recovered from COVID-19 undergo an in-depth medical examination. The speaker also touched upon other risk factors for the development of cardiovascular diseases: anxiety and depressive disorders, obesity, malnutrition, low physical activity, age: In Russia, the risk of getting a myocardial infarction at the age of 45 to 60 is 30.5%!
In the second part of the report, Murat Umetov spoke about the projects and programs developed and implemented by KBSU. The «Explain and Save» project aims to inform the population of the KBR about the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Within the framework of the project, together with the Ministry of Health of the KBR, it is planned to carry out preventive work with patients at risk and organize the rehabilitation of those who have undergone COVID-19. The system for assessing the risk of complications of coronary atherosclerosis «SOROKA+» has already been put into practice. The advantage and importance of this system is that with its help it is possible to identify an underestimated risk of cardiovascular diseases and increase the effectiveness of prevention. The outcome of the round table summed up the acting.
