“In the spring of 1767, in one of the villages located in the Chegem Gorge of Kabardino-Balkaria, people suddenly began to die. Fearing that it could turn out to be an epidemic, the Russian authorities decided to investigate. A special commission was sent to the Balkar settlement, whose members tried to sort out the problem. However, the investigation raised more questions than answers. After all, local residents assured that the deaths were due to the curse of talking mummies, whose tomb was plundered by Chegem shepherds. But where could mummies come from 250 years ago in the mountains of the Caucasus, and even talking ones? The seekers will try to find this mysterious cave and find out the real reasons for the deaths of people,” — the description for the program “The Seekers” says.
