The honorary title «Honored Doctor of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic» was awarded to the dean of the medical faculty of KBSU Ismail Miziev

October 27, 2021 by the Decree of the Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Kazbek Valerievich Kokov to the dean of the medical faculty of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov Ismail Alimovich Miziev was awarded the honorary title «Honored Doctor of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic».

Miziev Ismail Alimovich — Dean of the Medical Faculty of KBSU, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Faculty and Endoscopic Surgery. Ismail Alimovich was born on September 21, 1965 in the Bulungu village of the Chegem region of the KBASSR. In 1983 he entered the medical faculty of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University and graduated in 1991. From 1985 to 1987 he served in the ranks of the Armed Forces.

In 1991, he entered the full-time residency in surgery at the Rostov State Medical University, then in graduate school, which he graduated with a Ph.D. thesis in 1996 under the guidance of Professor Viktor Nikolaevich Chernov. Later, Ismail Miziev entered full-time doctoral studies there, graduating in 2000 with the defense of his doctoral dissertation. In 2001 he was invited to the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov, and in 2002 he was elected head of the department of faculty and endoscopic surgery. In 2003, Miziev became a professor. Miziev Ismail Alimovich lectures on surgical diseases, thoracic surgery, oncology, endoscopic surgery, concomitant trauma. Miziev is actively introducing electronic forms and distance learning technologies into the pedagogical process. For the first time in KBR, Ismail Miziev introduced and used virtual teaching technologies in medicine, which are based on simulation technologies. In 2013, Ismail Alimovich was appointed director of the KBSU clinic. Ismail Alimovich is a pioneer in endoscopic surgery in the North Caucasus, operating since 1994.

The range of scientific research of Professor Miziev is extensive, deals with the problems of emergency surgery of the abdominal and thoracic cavity organs, the problem of concomitant trauma, oncosurgery of the gastrointestinal tract, thoracic surgery, plastic surgery. In 2007, Ismail Miziev was awarded the Order of Peter the Great I degree for his merits and great personal contribution to the development of national medicine and health care, and was also elected a full member of the Peter’s Academy of Sciences and Arts. In the same year he was elected a full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. Miziev is an Honored Scientist of the KBR, Chairman of the KBSU Dissertation Council on Surgery, Chairman of the Regional Branch of the Russian Society of Surgeons, is a member of the European Association of Endosurgeons, the Russian Society of Coloproctologists, the Russian Society of Endoscopic Surgeons, the Russian Society of Gastroenterological Surgeons. IA Miziev takes an active part in conferences of the all-Russian and international level, joining their organizing committees and organizing their holding.
