From March 1 to March 3, on the basis of the educational and scientific complex of the KBSU in the Elbrus region, the forum «The Republican movement» Mentor «” was held, which brought together more than 80 participants.

The organizers — the Trade Union Organization of Students and Postgraduates of the KBSU in cooperation with the Interregional Public Organization “Association of Mentors” and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs “Rosmolodezh”, set a goal to implement a system for training young personnel aged 16 to 23 years old living in settlements KBR, to successful work in legislative and executive authorities.

“Often, it is precisely in matters relating to professional growth that there is not enough adviser who, from the height of his experience, his achievements and his mistakes, who knows a certain system from the inside, will send a young, inexperienced person on the right track. Such a counselor is a mentor. A person with a high civil culture who is ready to share invaluable experience for the benefit of the whole society, knowing that they will not pay for it. This is the essence of the mentoring movement,” — explained project leader Fatimat Taumurzaeva.
Mentors were chosen by the forum organizers from among young politicians and executives in the region, namely, representatives of the Youth Chamber at the Parliament of the KBR, the Youth Government, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Affairs of the Republic, the Ministry of Health of the KBR, the Youth Council under the Union of «OOP KBR», successful entrepreneurs and winners of various personnel competitions.

The instructors are young people from 38 localities in the republic who have passed a preliminary selection and preparatory course in social studies and history using the resources of the Open Education website.

The peculiarity of the “Mentors Movement” project is not just to create formal links between the mentors and the mentors, but to give them a real opportunity to make friends, get to know each other, talk about various topics. For this purpose, various active collaboration platforms were organized at the forum: solving case assignments, developing road development maps, intellectual and entertaining games, quests, etc.

One of the most useful platforms of the forum was a panel discussion on the topic “The Institute of Mentoring as a Tool for Raising Competitive Youth”. The speakers — experts in various areas of management, shared with the forum participants their career growth experiences and information about resources that can be used to develop leadership skills and expand the range of their competencies.
