The annual open English language Olympiad has ended at KBSU

Traditionally, the organizer was the Department of Foreign Languages of the SGI Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.

230 students of different specialties and directions took part in the Olympiad. The intellectual competition consisted of two stages: written, which included lexical and grammatical tasks, and oral. It was dedicated to the theme of the Year of the Family in Russia. Students discussed the influence of the modern world on traditional values, childfree families, divorces, expressing their personal attitudes.

The children demonstrated a high level of English language proficiency and the ability to clearly express their thoughts. Active participation in the discussion indicated the students’ interest. The coordinated work of teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages of the SHI KBSU contributed to the successful holding of both stages of the Olympiad.

According to the results of the competition, first place was taken by a 2nd year student in the direction of “Radio Engineering” Elkhan Gaev. Second place went to 1st year student of the “Dentistry” direction Radana Gashaeva, and third place was shared by 1st year student of the “General Medicine” direction Shami Abdel Hakim and 2nd year student of the “Economics” direction Amina Kerimova. The winners were awarded valuable prizes.
