Representatives of KBSU at the largest Russian exhibition in the category «Tourism and Leisure»

March 16, 2023 Head of the Department for Pre-University Training and Career Guidance, Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov Aksana Karasheva together with acting head of Department of Economics and Management in Tourism Leyla Baisultanova took part in the All-Russian meeting on the training of personnel for tourism and hospitality in the system of higher education (a meeting of the Federal Educational and Methodological Association in the system of higher education in an enlarged group of specialties and directions 43.00.00 “Service and tourism»).

The event was held at the Moscow Exhibition Center «Crocus Expo» as part of the business program of the International Exhibition MITT-2023 with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the expert council of the State Duma Committee for Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure Development, the National Union of the Hospitality Industry.

MITT is one of the largest specialized exhibitions in the world, its participants were representatives of 57 Russian regions and 24 countries of the CIS and neighboring countries — more than 600 industry leaders and industry experts, tour operators and travel agencies, hoteliers, representatives of transport companies, organizers of copyright tours and business tourism, executives businesses, opinion leaders and travel bloggers. KBSU has been training personnel in the field of tourism for over 20 years.

University graduates work as guides, in various positions in hotels and resorts, open their own travel agencies, tour operator companies. Many students begin their professional journey in the field of tourism already during their studies. The participants of the meeting discussed the strategic directions and methodological approach to the transformation of the system of vocational education in the field of tourism and hospitality.

A. Karasheva spoke about the results and shared her plans:

As part of the business program of the exhibition, 15 thematic sessions were held with leaders and experts in the tourism and hospitality market. As a result of the meeting, it was proposed to continue work on the 4th generation FSES higher education project, as well as to determine the list of professional qualifications that are recommended for simultaneous development within the framework of “multiple qualification models”. That is, the student will be able to obtain additional qualifications both of the same level and lower (qualifications of a mid-level specialist or a worker). For example, a qualification related to tourism, and additionally a qualification related to management. This year we plan to take part in the Federal Educational Forum on Sustainable Development of Tourism in the Regions of the Russian Federation, the International Student Congress «Sustainable Future of Tourism» and the School of Young Scientists «Economics of Sustainable Development»
