KBSU turned 92!

Bright, cheerful, unforgettable: this is how the festive celebrations on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the university’s foundation were held on October 11, 2024, at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.

A number of events were held for this significant date – the donor campaign “Do good”, the quest festival for first-year students “Path of the First-Year Student”, the opening of the Spartakiad “Prize of the First-Year Student” and the awarding of the winners and prize-winners of the XL “Anniversary Spartakiad”.

The head of the university Yuri Altudov, congratulating the teachers, staff, students, postgraduate students, residents and graduates, emphasized that each of them plays an important role in our common future.

Acting rector of KBSU noted:

During this historical period, many trials have been passed, but thanks to the efforts of the staff, their dedication, the great contribution of students and graduates to the development of the university, today KBSU occupies a worthy place among the leading organizations of higher education in Russia.

In 92 years, KBSU has come a long way from the Kabardino-Balkarian Pedagogical Institute to the leading multidisciplinary scientific and educational center of the North Caucasus Federal District, which continues to develop successfully. Today, more than 20 thousand people from 40 regions of the country and 41 countries study there. The university confidently maintains its position in the top hundred universities in Russia.

On this significant day, the many thousands of staff on behalf of the leadership and Government of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic were congratulated by Deputy Chairman of the Government — Minister of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Zalim Kashirokov:

Kabardino-Balkarian State University is a forge of personnel not only for the republic, but also for the entire Russian Federation. Its graduates work in all sectors of the economy, medicine, industry, and other areas. Without any exaggeration, KBSU has played a direct or indirect role in the life of every family in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, so today’s date is rightfully considered a national holiday — a day that is celebrated in the soul either here, or at home, or at enterprises by residents of Kabardino-Balkaria. I want to wish students professional growth and fulfillment in their future lives. And that it be carried out within the framework of the national interests of our country, our entire society. I wish you creative and scientific success, well-being and happiness.

The first vice-rector of KBSU — vice-rector for academic work Vadim Lesev addressed those gathered in the A. N. Sokurov cinema and concert hall with a welcoming speech:

The history of the formation and development of Kabardino-Balkarian State University is a bright page in the education and science of the Russian Federation. The selfless work of teachers, their passion for their work, the desire of students, their creativity, a strong, modern, material and technical base of the university — this is the key to the development of the university. Happy holiday, dear friends, and prosperity to our university.

51 employees of the university were awarded for their conscientious work and in connection with the celebration of the Foundation Day of KBSU. A number of students who showed activity and creativity in implementing youth policy at the university were awarded with KBSU certificates of honor and gratitude. Kind words were said to them: «These people are real heroes of our time, who inspire us all with their work and dedication.»

Honored Artist of the KBR Lana Kulova, soloist of the State Musical Theater of the KBR Zhambulat Zhuboev, Honored Worker of Culture of the KBR, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory of State and Law Eldar Dymov, 1st degree laureate in the nomination «Academic Vocals» at the All-Russian Student Spring 2024 Milana Dzueva, KBSU Dance Theater «Callisto», student of the Institute of Philosophy and Biology Aidamir Keshtov, student of the Institute of Philosophy and Biology, winner of the show competition «X-Factor» Turkmenistan Anaberdi Garyagdyev presented their bright creative numbers to the audience in honor of the birthday of the leading university of the republic.

A beautiful end to the festive concert was the performance of the KBSU anthem by all comers.

At the same time, fascinating interactive thematic platforms from various departments of KBSU, cultural centers of the university launched their work in the lobby of the Institute of Physics and Mathematics, where fascinating master classes and trainings awaited the participants.

Those interested could learn how to properly provide first aid, learn how to give injections and apply stitches on medical models; immerse themselves in the exciting world of science, conducting amazing chemical and physical experiments using specialized devices and reagents; discover the basics of robotics and learn how to create their first projects using modern technology; and even master various drawing techniques under the guidance of an experienced artist. Special psychological trainings and games were prepared to pump up their personal potential and develop communication skills.

Students and employees of the university happily immersed themselves in the world of knowledge and creativity. The holiday ended, leaving many pleasant emotions and unforgettable impressions.
