KBSU took part in the Russian Forum «Universities 2030»

On November 6, on the basis of Nizhny Novgorod State University named after Lobachevsky, the Russian forum «Universities 2030: Science — Competencies — Youth» began work, in which the heads of more than 200 higher educational institutions of the country, representatives of the expert community and government officials took part. KBSU was represented by the rector of the university, professor Yuri Altudov, vice-rector for research, professor Svetlana Khashirova and the head of the department for support of NTI and OM projects Tanzilya Makhieva.

The event was opened by Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, and Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. It is also attended by the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev, Director of the Department of Audit of Education, Science and Innovation of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Svetlana Merkushina, Rector of the National Research University Higher School of Economics Yaroslav Kuzminov, Rector of UNN Elena Zagainova, Rector of RANEPA Vladimir Mau, and heads of the largest universities in the country.

The forum will discuss topical issues of the development of Russian higher education, including new challenges associated with the spread of coronavirus infection.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov, opening the panel discussion of the forum, called its holding in the Nizhny Novgorod region symbolic. He stressed that the Nizhny Novgorod land has always been famous for its universities and scientists.

“The region was one of the first in the country to create a scientific and educational center, the effect of such centers is already noticeable,” — the minister said.
Valeriy Falkov also stated that universities should increase their research potential, more influence on the economy and technological development.

The business program of the forum provides 10 discussion platforms on topical topics:

Panel discussions «The role and task of universities in the National Project «Science and Education» and «University in the Land of Opportunities», open studios: «How universities can participate in the retraining of the population»,»New youth policy»,»Continuing education in Russia and the world», round table «Digital technologies in teaching specialized disciplines: preparing personnel for the digital economy.»

Particular attention in the program was paid to the preparation and presentation of standard road maps of universities for the development of lifelong education in accordance with the needs of the economy and the population of the regions. Experts — representatives of universities, regional authorities, as well as federal structures — considered the possibility of launching a system of mass lifelong education for adults at the country’s universities.

The forum was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Higher School of Economics National Research University, the Scientific and Educational Policy EAC, and the Moscow International Education Fair.
