Kabardino-Balkarian State University became the only university of the republic that entered the Top 15% of the best universities in the world according to the results of the Global Aggregate Ranking 2023.

One of the goals of creating ratings is to understand the place and role of universities in the global educational processes, taking into account the peculiarities of local education systems. Each rating has its own goals, audience, methodology, data sources and indicators.

The aggregate rating developed by the Guild of Experts in Vocational Education has led to a common denominator of the 13 most authoritative global institutional rankings. It includes only those universities that are represented in at least two world rankings. KBSU entered several popular world rankings at once: Moscow International Ranking «Three Missions of the University» (MosIUR), Round University Ranking (RUR), Scimago institutions rankings (SIR). In 2022, the Global Aggregate Ranking covered more than 25,000 higher education institutions from 125 countries, including 144 Russian universities. It has been compiled for the fourth time, every year it includes the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov.

Among the indicators taken into account when compiling ratings are scientific activity, the activities of the university in the international educational arena, the involvement of the university in educational activities, the quality of the website, and others. The ranking results can be useful for self-diagnosis and activation of scientific, organizational and methodological activities of universities in the coming year.
