KBSU held the campaign “10,000 steps to life”
On April 7, 2024, the “10,000 steps to life” event was held in Nalchik, organized by the Medical Academy of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov together with the Ministry of Health of the KBR, the National Health League and Capital MS LLC.
Against the backdrop of the Caucasus Mountains, Nalchik came alive with a healthy spirit — hundreds of citizens and guests of Kabardino-Balkaria took the first steps towards a healthy lifestyle as part of the International Campaign “10,000 Steps to Life”. The participants gathered in the park named after Atazhukin, and started from there, overcoming familiar paths and alleys.
Welcoming the participants of the action, deputy director of the Medical Academy, head of the regional branch of the National Health League, Zareta Kambachokova, noted that the health route developed by the Medical Academy of KBSU was certified and included in the unified register of routes in Russia.
“We are glad that the “10,000 steps to life” campaign evoked a positive response from the population of our republic, as evidenced by the constantly growing number of people following the health route. I wish everyone a great mood and a happy longevity,”
– said Zareta Kambachokova.
The most important points of the event were noted by the Minister of Health of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Rustam Kalibatov, emphasizing that walking is a simple and effective way to maintain your health.
Throughout the journey, the participants were accompanied by medical students who, if necessary, were ready to provide medical assistance and give appropriate recommendations. Before starting the route, they measured blood pressure and performed rapid tests on blood glucose and cholesterol levels as the main indicators of health.
With brisk steps, the activists reached the finish line, where everyone was presented with certificates with the personal signature of the president of the National Health League, academician Leo Bockeria.
Let us remind you that the campaign started on April 7 in the CIS countries as part of a global initiative dedicated to World Health Day.
