Congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the unified autonomy of Kabardino-Balkaria

The speech of the Head of the KBR Kazbek Kokov in connection with the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the unified autonomy of Kabardino-Balkaria Dear residents of Kabardino-Balkaria! Dear countrymen! Today is a significant date, symbolizing the beginning of the centuries-old history of Kabardino-Balkaria and the jubilee year of the 100th anniversary of our republic. Let’s turn to the pages of the past. By a decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the RSFSR dated September 1, 1921, Kabarda was proclaimed an authorized subject of the Russian state with the status of an autonomous region. After only 4 months, and this, of course, there is a historical pattern, Balkaria withdrew from the Mountain Republic and on January 16, 1922, a single Kabardino-Balkarian Autonomous Region was formed.
The formation of Kabardino-Balkaria in the status of an autonomous subject of Russia was an important milestone in the historical destinies of the Kabardian and Balkar peoples, their unity, opened up unprecedentedly broad prospects for their economic, social and cultural development, opportunities for strengthening friendship and fraternal cooperation with other peoples of the country. In this regard, the key content of the upcoming festive events should be the understanding by all of us of the fateful role of this event, the special significance of unity, trust, the connection between generations, the realization of how important it is to cherish our native history, traditions proven over centuries, common successes and achievements, and, of course, appreciate everything that has been done by the Russian state and is being done now for the socio-economic development of the republic, to preserve the national identity and original culture of our peoples.
As you know, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin signed a Decree on the celebration at the federal level of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic in 2022, for which we are deeply grateful to him. The federal and republican organizing committees have been formed, the Plan for the preparation and celebration of the anniversary has been approved. The main events are planned to be held in September, timed to coincide with the Statehood Day of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, established by a resolution of the Parliament of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic on September 1, 1997.
The program of anniversary events provides for the implementation of international, federal and republican socio-cultural, scientific projects, holding forums and other events to demonstrate the achievements of the republic, its historical and cultural heritage. The main celebrations will be held both in the republic and in Moscow.
I am sure that the preparation and celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the republic will serve as an important stimulus for the further consolidation of our society, will give an additional impetus to joint work to build a modern and prosperous Kabardino-Balkaria.
