Release date: 21.03.2022

March 19 at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov passed the open parent university «KBSU Admission Campaign-2022: Features of Admission under the New Rules». “KBSU is one of the oldest universities in Russia with its strong traditions, faculty, capable of providing students with a high level of knowledge and competencies. Graduates of KBSU confidently occupy a worthy place in society, — said acting. Vice-Rector for Admissions and Pre-University Activities, Director of the Institute of Chemistry and Biology of the KBSU Arsen Kharaev, addressing potential applicants and their parents. “Today is a great opportunity for applicants and parents to get to know the university better, ask questions of interest and avoid mistakes during the selection committee.” The meeting was held in an informal atmosphere, where the parents themselves turned into students in a playful way, passing tests, exams and receiving a diploma.

Artur Nasipov, Head of the Department of Projects and Pre-University Training, conducted a small test and determined the types of parents who were present in the hall, the vast majority belonged to the category of “active and democratic parents”. “Today, engineering and IT technologies are among the most popular areas, if your child chose the Unified State Examination in specialized mathematics, physics or chemistry and successfully passed them, this is already 80% that he entered a state-funded place,” said the head of the department for pre-university preparation and career guidance Aksana Karasheva. “In addition, the number of points for the Unified State Examination can be increased due to personal achievements: a medal, a certificate with honors, a volunteer book, a TRP badge, a prize at the All-Russian Olympiad, etc.” The list of personal achievements is published on the KBSU website, as well as in the newspaper «For entrants of KBSU 2022», which were distributed to parents. Other achievements that are not included in the official list will be needed when a controversial moment arises before the selection committee about enrolling applicants with the same USE scores on the budget. This year, you can apply to five universities.

The maximum number of directions is 10. At KBSU, you can apply for 5 directions at once. Further, Aksana Karasheva informed the parents of applicants in detail about what special and target quotas are. Every year, the university allocates 10% of budget places for each area of training and specialty for a special quota. They will be occupied by disabled people, orphans and applicants from other categories with the right to preferential education. The target quota is one of the options for free education at a university, in which an applicant enters into an agreement with an organization, studies at its expense, and after training works in it for several years. If for some reason a school graduate could not pass the exam or score threshold scores, then there is also a way out.

“Life without the Unified State Examination exists,” — Aksana Karasheva reassured. So, in KBSU there are 4 colleges where you can apply for all directions. There is a competition for certificates. During the meeting, KBSU employees answered all questions in as much detail as possible and clarified that each parent can call the admissions office at any time or come in person and get additional advice on admission to the university. “I myself graduated from KBSU and I want my nephew to enter here. Despite the fact that I received the second higher education in Moscow, I can say with confidence that it was more difficult at KBSU, there was more knowledge. One of the most important advantages of the native university is that they teach how to study here,” one of the participants of the meeting from the auditorium noted in conclusion.
