Born on the 10th of November, 1947 in the village Germencik, of Urvanski region of the Kabardino-Balkarian republic.
Higher education, graduated from Kabardino-Balkarian State University, specialty «Physics» (1969, diploma with honours).
Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the nanosystem physics department of Kabardino-Balkarian State University, academician of the State Academy of Sciences «Russian Education Academy», member of the expert commission for the introduction of innovative developments, author’s programs, teaching methods in Education; the member of the Interdepartmental Council on awarding the prizes of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of education. He is also the member of the presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the member of the Russian Rectors’ Union Board and , deputy chairman of the council of rectors of the North Caucasian Federal District. Besides, the chairman of the council of rectors of the KBR’s universities and the member of the International Academy of higher school sciences and the president of the association «Assistance to Universities».
The deputy of the KBR’s Parliament of the second, the third (from 1997-2009) and the fifth (from 2014 to the present time) convocations. He is the member of the All-Russian political party «United Russia» (since 2002). Honored worker of science of the Russian Federation, honored worker of science of the Kabardino-Balkarian republic and laureate of the Russian Federation government prize in education.
He was awarded with the Certificate of honor of the Russian Federation Ministry of General and Professional Education, the Honorary Badge «The Scientist of the Year 2010», the state award of the republic of Abkhazia with the order «Akhdz-upsha» (honor and glory in translation) of the IInd degree, the Gold Medal of the Russian-Swiss business club «For impeccable business reputation» , honorary diploma and medal of the European business association, the order of Anton Makarenko, the medal of the State Duma of Russia, laureate of Peter the Great’s award, сavalier of the Golden Honorary badge «Public recognition».
The main directions of his pedagogical research: university complexes of various types; guaranteeing the quality of education in the university complex; the development of a regional university as a university complex; integration of higher education and secondary professional education on the basis of one university complex; the development of models and technologies for educating students in the spirit of tolerance, involving young people in the creative life of society.
His scientific researches are connected with fundamental and applied research in the field of physics and chemistry of interphase phenomenon in condensed matters, as well as in other areas of modern physics.
The chief editor of the peer-reviewed scientific journal «Izvestiya KBSU», recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for the publication of the main scientific results of the dissertations for of Doctor of Science degree.
He is the head of the dissertational council for the protection of doctoral thesis in the specialty 01.04.15 (physics and technology of nanostructures, atomic and molecular physics) and the international UNESCO chair «Education and upbringing in the spirit of a culture, peace and human rights».
Besides, he is author of 352 publications, 338 of which are scientific and 14 are methodological publications. He has 13 certificates for inventions and patents and is the author and co-author of 14 monographs.
He is married and has 3 children.
