October 15 in the hall of the Cultural Center. H.S. Temirkanov, Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekova held a Strategic session with the participation of young scientists of the university on the topic of research and innovative development of KBSU within the framework of the Strategic Academic Leadership Program (PSAL).

The event was attended by the vice-rector of KBSU for research Svetlana Khashirova, the activists of the Council of young scientists of the university, as well as graduate students, residents, young teachers and specialists from all structural divisions of the university.

“Universities that meet three criteria can participate in the Strategic Academic Leadership Program — the number of students is not less than 4.5 thousand, the amount of funding for the university is not less than 1 billion rubles, the amount of funding for research work is not less than 5% of the total amount of funding for the university. These are very strict criteria, but our university adheres to them, and we can enter this program. This will give the university additional allocations for the development of the university for the next ten years, most of which — for the development of science and scientific research. And it is young scientists who will have to determine the scientific agenda in the next decade. You are faced with daunting tasks and daunting opportunities, but which require great efforts from all of us every year, every day. I would like you to feel your perspective, tune in to serious, productive work,» — said Svetlana Khashirova.

The main purpose of the event was to discuss the research policy at KBSU and the proposals of young scientists for inclusion in the University Development Strategy until 2030. At the moment, KBSU is undergoing an extensive campaign to prepare for participation in the PSAL. During the session, the community of young scientists described their vision of the current situation in the field of research policy and innovation activities of the university, suggested ways to solve pressing problems, and also put forward projects for inclusion in the KBSU application for participation in the Strategic Academic Leadership Program.

For reference:

The Strategic Academic Leadership Program is aimed at modernizing the system of science and higher education in Russia and is intended to replace the already implemented project «5-100»; it is based on three principles: the principle of combining scientific and educational organizations, the principle of competition among universities and the principle of openness.
