Release date: 15.12.2022

On December 14-15, 2022, the IV International Forum «Advanced digital and production technologies» was held in full-time format with the possibility of remote connection at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The forum was attended by leading experts and representatives of federal and regional government authorities, state corporations, high-tech companies, development institutions, universities, scientific organizations and the business community.

Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov presented the acting vice-rector for research work of the university Svetlana Khashirova. The main topic of the forum this year is the digital transformation of industry in order to achieve technological sovereignty: the formation of a portfolio of scientific, educational and scientific and technological programs containing frontier engineering tasks, the development of advanced digital and manufacturing technologies and products that ensure global competitiveness.

The high relevance of the topic was confirmed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov. Speaking at the plenary session, he noted the great work that the state is doing to support leaders who form new scientific knowledge, technologies and developments for implementation in the economy. These are the Priority 2030 support program for progressive modern universities, the federal program for the development of World-Class Research Centers (NCMU), the federal project to create Advanced Engineering Schools (FSP), and the Platform for University Technological Entrepreneurship (Entrepreneurial Boiling Point). According to the website of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, the head of the Ministry of Education and Science emphasized that in the new reality, there is a clearly visible trend in evaluating the effectiveness of the university not so much by academic results, but by the willingness to turn ideas into technologies, products and services.

Valery Falkov outlined the special role of NSP as a base for training engineers of a new formation, capable of creating advanced products and developments, and also noted the importance of training technology entrepreneurs who are able to translate these inventions into economically profitable ones. The extensive business program of the Advanced Digital and Manufacturing Technologies forum included round tables, pitch sessions, presentations and discussions on topical issues of applying advanced digital and manufacturing technologies in Russia in various fields. Svetlana Khashirova presented a report on the work of the mirror engineering center «Elbrus» of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University operating at KBSU.

In her speech, the Vice-Rector of KBSU noted: The activities of the mirror centers of the NTI «New Production Technologies» are aimed at cooperation between universities in the field of digital transformation and the introduction of advanced production technologies. They are an effective form of networking and allow you to effectively combine competencies for the development of advanced areas of science and the training of a new generation of engineering personnel. As part of our mirror center, the network educational program «Computer Engineering and Digital Manufacturing» has already been launched, several projects have been completed in the interests of the state corporations Roscosmos and Rosatom, and network educational programs for additional professional education are being launched. Also, cooperation within the mirror center allowed KBSU to join other large-scale projects implemented at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. In particular, a network scientific laboratory was created, which became a participant in the Advanced Engineering Schools Digital Engineering project.
