The results of the competition of school projects «Young Geologist and Paleontologist»

April 12, 2021 at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov, a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-winners of the competition of school projects «Young Geologist and Paleontologist» took place.

The competition was organized by the Scientific and Educational Center «Botanical Garden» and the Institute of Chemistry and Biology of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University with the participation of the Institute of Ecology of Mountain Territories. A.K. Tembotov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was timed to coincide with the day of the geologist, which is celebrated in our country on the first Sunday of April.

65 applications were submitted for the competition from schoolchildren from different districts of the KBR.

The works were evaluated in 4 sections: Geology, Mineralogy, Paleontology, Paleogeography. In addition, students submitted their work to the drawing competition.

The solemn meeting was opened by the head of the Department of Scientific Research and Innovation Activities of the KBSU, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Sergei Shagin, he congratulated all those present on the day of the geologist, wished the participants of the competition success in the knowledge of nature and the study of natural sciences.

Further, diplomas and gifts were presented to the winners of the competition: Deputy of the Parliament of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic from the Kabardino-Balkarian Regional Branch of the Russian Ecological Party «Greens», Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Biology, Geoecology and Molecular-Genetic Foundations of Living Systems Safarbi Shkhagapsoev; Chairman of the Competition Jury, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Biology, Geoecology and Molecular-Genetic Foundations of Living Systems Raya Sabanova; Head of the Department of Biology, Geoecology and Molecular-Genetic Foundations of Living Systems, Candidate of Biological Sciences Anzor Paritov.

A number of works submitted for the competition were marked with a special award from the Institute of Ecology of Mountain Territories named after V.I. A.K. Tembotov of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Special awards were presented by Galina Kyarova, Deputy Chairperson of the Interregional Public Ecological Movement «Ecology — Life».

Aksana Karasheva, head of the department for pre-university training and career guidance, adviser to the rector’s office for career guidance, presented letters of thanks to the 20 teachers who prepared the participants and prize-winners of the competition.

Words of gratitude to the organizers of the event were voiced by all participants: students, teachers and parents.
