The project "Roots of Friendship of Peoples - in our history" launched at KBSU

April 5 in the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov hosted a solemn presentation of the international project “The Roots of Friendship of Peoples in Our History”, implemented by the Association of University Students of the North Caucasus and the Department of Russian Language and General Linguistics, KBSU with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Affairs of the KBR.

Arthur Kazharov, Vice-Rector for Pre-University Training and SPE, Advisor to the Head of the KBR Nina Himzova, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth Affairs Irina Shontukova, Chairman of the Association of University Students of Northern Caucasus Azamat Luyev, heads of the National Cultural Centers «Syabry», “Rioni”, members of the Kabardino-Balkarian public organization “Association of Russian Language and Literature Teachers”, representatives of student assets of schools in Nalchik, Elbrusky, Chegemsky, Zolsky, Baksansky districts.

About the idea of ​​the origin of the project and its focus told its author head of the department of the Russian language and general linguistics, Professor Svetlana Bashieva:

«The project “The Roots of Friendship of Our Nations — in Our History” was created with the aim of popularizing Russian culture and its most important components, language and literature, whose target audience is the youth of the North Caucasus Federal District. Within the framework of the project, seminars will be held on the topic “Actual problems of teaching Russian language and literature” for teachers, for the representatives of student activists, training seminars “Successful practice projects in the field of popularization of the Russian language and culture among young people” are organized. The next stage will be the holding of one-day excursion forums “Wider Circle” for young people in the Maysky and Prokhladnensky districts, on June 6, the traditional reading competition “Multilingual Pushkin” will be held. The final part of the project will be an international summer school, in which representatives of the North Caucasus Federal District, as well as Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and foreign students of KBSU will take part. As a result, at least 1,000 people will take part in the project’s activities; at least 200 methodological materials with the Russian language popularization practices will be distributed. The implementation of the project will make it possible to popularize the Russian language as a means of intercultural communication, to form new practices for this, to create conditions for inter-ethnic interaction, to generate competencies for the implementation of network projects».
The activity of a team of people who undertook to implement this voluminous program, Nina Emuzova, called motivation.

«The emergence of such a project is a natural process. I’m glad I joined such an important and necessary business», — professor said.

The project leader Azamat Luyev told about the tasks that need to be addressed in the first place:

«We thought, what problem is now most acute. They came to the conclusion that they read little. The idea arose to create literary clubs in schools where children could get together, share an opinion that would solve this problem in many ways. In my opinion, literary clubs will not only popularize the Russian language, but also contribute to the preservation of native languages. It is planned at the end of the year to organize a rally of literary clubs on the basis of the KBSU»

At the seminar “Actual problems of teaching Russian language and literature at school,” Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Nina Himzova and Doctor of Philology Svetlana Bashiyeva discussed with colleagues such issues as forming a valuable attitude to the world in the process of reading, increasing reading culture, mechanisms for maintaining interest in reading and All participants received a handbook published by the organizers of the project, which examined the theoretical and methodological foundations of the formation of a positive attitude towards reading, successful practicalities of popularization of reading, the results of diagnostics of reading literacy are presented, as well as the new project “We Read Everything!”.

At the same time, volunteers held a training seminar for representatives of student assets of schools in the republic, at which each student received a handbook with recommendations and materials for opening a “We read everything!” Literary club at the school

Similar seminars and trainings in accordance with the project program will be held this month in the Cherek district and in Prohladny city.
