Future engineers

A non-commercial project initiated by the Russian Venture Company JSC (the state fund of funds and the institute for the development of the venture capital market of the Russian Federation) and implemented by the National Technology Initiative Projects Support Fund, in 2018 was approved by the Presidential Council for the Modernization of the Economy and Innovative Development of Russia as a key area of ​​implementation road map of the NTI Circle Traffic. Its goal is to attract the attention of young people and a wide audience to technical creativity, makers, creating their own projects, including in circles operating in institutions of additional education.

In 2020, the competition was held in 4 thematic areas: BIO (bio- and neurotechnology), TECH (creation of new industries and markets), FUN (virtual, augmented and mixed reality, fashion, entertainment, communications, etc.) and ART (projects on the intersection of technology, science and art). In various regions of the country, 872 technological projects were considered.

“The organization of the NTI Circle movement, RUKAMI contests and festivals is carried out with the aim of forming the next generation of entrepreneurs, engineers, scientists, managers capable of offering new technical and technological solutions, creating a business aimed at the development of Russia and the whole world,” the Acting Rector of KBSU commented then on the event , Doctor of Technical Sciences, Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology Yuri Altudov. — It is important to invite schoolchildren and students to do something on their own, to provide them with the opportunity to talk about their ideas, to demonstrate drawings, technical developments, do-it-yourself structures. The RUKAMI competition provides such an opportunity. One of its most important tasks, we consider the interaction of young people with scientists, representatives of the manufacturing sector of the economy on career guidance, advisory and technical support. Engineering staff is the basis for the development of production potential. For us, interaction with youth is work for the future. »

Interregional regional operator

In accordance with the cooperation agreement between KBSU and the NTI Project Support Fund, the largest university of Kabardino-Balkaria in 2020 for the first time acted as a regional operator of the competition. However, the university department for support of NTI projects and public events (Boiling Point) managed to involve in the creative competition makers not only from our republic, but also from other constituent entities of southern Russia.

“In the fall, young technology enthusiasts, future inventors, designers and entrepreneurs from Kabardino-Balkaria, the Chechen Republic, the Astrakhan Region and the Stavropol Territory defended their projects online in front of members of the competition jury, which included representatives of KBSU, industrial enterprises of the republic and the Children’s Academy of Creativity «Sunny City» of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Affairs of the KBR, — said the director of the department Tanzilya Makhieva. — The jury evaluated the projects according to many criteria: manufacturability, originality, socio-economic importance, degree of readiness, quality of presentation. A popular vote was organized on the VKontakte social network. »

Underwater, in the clouds and on the land

According to the project coordinator Tatyana Smirnova, among the developments submitted to the regional competition by individual participants and family teams, children and youth teams of regional centers of scientific and technical creativity under the guidance of mentors, were such as “Floating mobile mini-hydroelectric power plants to provide electricity to hard-to-reach mountain areas «,» Prototype of a large reflector telescope for studying the relief of exoplanets «,» The use of composite materials in the design and construction of aircraft with variable geometry and wing profile «,» Underwater robotics «,» Automation of street lighting on alternative energy sources «, art the project «The Magic World of Animation» and others, no less interesting.

Four out of 22 contestants of the regional stage received official invitations to the final of the competition.

In the final of the All-Russian competition in each of the four nominations, two winners were determined in the categories «Start» and «Pro».

The project of the family team of the teacher of the College of Information Technologies and Economics of KBSU Zaurbek Tlupov («TECH. Profi») entered the top eight. The software product «Emotion player», developed with the participation of a 2nd year student of the Institute of Informatics, Electronics and Robotics of KBSU Islam Tlupov, can be used to filter and set the age rating of video content according to the MPAA system, which is currently considered the most optimal and widespread age rating system.
