The KBSU team is the winner in the nomination «Prompt decision making» in the Olympiad «Kalashnikov-Technofest»
The team of the Institute of Informatics, Electronics and Robotics of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov became the winner in the nomination «Prompt Decision Making» of the III International Open Scientific and Technical Festival of Robotics «Kalashnikov-Technofest», which was held from February 7 to 11, 2023 at the Izhevsk State Technical University named after M.T. Kalashnikov.
The KBSU team was represented by the head of the Department of Mechatronics and Robotics Khamisha Senov, the engineer of the Institute of Education and Science «Mechatronics and Robotics» Mukhamed Kipov and the students of MKOU Secondary School No. 2 of the rural settlement Malka Alim Bekulov and Alikhan Tishkov.
Mukhamed Kipov, who trained schoolchildren, spoke about the conditions of the competition: 500 students and pupils from different regions of Russia came to test their skills. Teams from Nalchik, Izhevsk and Novokuznetsk reached the final. The Olympics were held in several stages. Participants were given disassembled sets of robotic equipment, microcircuits, microcontrollers and individual parts. During the competition, the guys had to assemble the robot, solder microcontrollers and individual radio components in accordance with the diagram, connect drives and sensor elements to the corresponding ports of the microcontroller. The final stage was the development of a mobile robot control program and a demonstration of the operation of the entire complex.”
On February 10, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Hamisha Senov took part in the round table «Unmanned systems and robotics», which was held in the format of reports followed by a discussion within the framework of the program «Kalashnikov-Technofest.
«The round table discussed promising developments and directions of development in the field of robotics, as well as the problem of developing modern robotics laboratories to solve automation problems in industry. Issues related to the use of modern software systems for design and simulation in mechanical engineering were considered. They especially noted that one of the effective mechanisms for career guidance is holding championships and olympiads in robotics and artificial intelligence,” — Hamisha Senov shared.
Among the participants were the leadership of IzhGTU named after M.T. Kalashnikov, representatives of the Kalashnikov concern, Technored LLC, Innopolis University, ASCON, Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics, Sirius University (Sochi). The III International Open Scientific and Technical Festival of Robotics «Kalashnikov-Technofest» ended with excursions to the weapons production «Izhmash» and the museum «Izhmash» of the Kalashnikov Concern, which presents a collection of ancient, modern small arms, cold steel, motorcycles and machine tools, civilian products, produced by the company for more than 200 years of its history.
