The 2026 Info-Relay Race for schoolchildren was held at KBSU

The republican intellectual tournament «Info-relay — 2026» was held at Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov. For the title of best in computer science and computer technology competed 9 school teams from Kabardino-Balkaria.

The event was part of a systemic vocational orientation work at the university, aimed at attracting talented young people to the IT industry and the field of information security. The organizers of the department «Computer technologies and information security» of the Institute of electronics, robotics and artificial intelligence.

Before the start, students of the institute instructed high school students:

Today, we don’t just play — we do a stress test of your intelligence, logic, and sense of humor. You can expect ciphers, algorithms, data search, non-standard tasks and a battle of the captains. Your motto: «Even if it freezes — overload and keep going!»
The competition took place on several thematic locations: «Captains’ Contest», «Digital Olympus», «Crypto Relay», «CTRL+F: Word Search», «PRO Level», «Algorithmic Sprint», «Chronocode» and sports relay. The guys solved applied problems, demonstrating not only subject knowledge but also logic, creativity and ability to work in a team. Each test required quick response, analytical thinking, and coherent interaction.

After the intense stages, participants organized an area for informal snacks where students could exchange experiences and chat with KBSU students and teachers.

The climax of the day was a solemn award ceremony. At the top level of the pedestal, the team of the Children’s Academy of Creativity «Sunny City» was found, second place was taken by students of MKOU «SOSH 2» in Nartkaly, and the three best teams from MKOU «SOSH 29» in Nalchik finished. All participants received diplomas and memorabilia as recognition of their knowledge, smarts and team spirit.

«Such formats of work with applicants bring immense benefits,» said the head of the KTiIB department, professor Tatiana Yurivna Hashirova. — We see genuine interest in the kids’ eyes. They need not just to listen to lectures, but to be involved in the process, working in a team on real cases. It is through such events that future students understand: information technology and cyber security are not just a set of disciplines, but an exciting world where you can create the future with your own hands.
«Info-relay — 2026» confirmed the high potential of the school IT teams of the republic and set a vector for further cooperation between the KBSU and educational institutions of the CDB. Organizers are already preparing for new intellectual starts to help talented young people choose the profession of the future with confidence.
