Solemn meeting dedicated to the 90th anniversary of KBSU
October 12, as part of the jubilee events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov, a solemn meeting of the scientific and pedagogical community of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic was held.
The head of the KBR Kazbek Kokov opened the meeting and was the first to congratulate the university:
«The 90th anniversary of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University is an important event in the life of the republic. The history of the formation and development of the State University is inextricably linked with the fate of Kabardino-Balkaria. In those distant 30s of the last century, the young republic had to overcome backwardness not only in socio-economic development, but above all in the field of education and science. We must pay tribute, the first higher educational institution of vocational education in Kabardino-Balkaria successfully coped with this important task. I heartily congratulate the management, the teaching staff, all employees and students of the university on this significant date».
Congratulatory messages were read from the stage from the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District Yuri Chaika, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the United Russia Party Boris Gryzlov, Secretary of State — Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Russian Federation Petra Kucherenko, Federal State Budgetary Institution «Rosakkredagestvo» — Lemka Sultanovna Izmailova, Chairman of the Parliament of the KBR — Tatyana Borisovna Egorova and other officials (see below).
Numerous friends of the university gathered to congratulate the staff and teachers of the KBSU, among whom were the Chairman of the Government of the KBR Aliy Musukov, the Chairman of the Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation Georgy Vilinbakhov, the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Zaur Gekkiev, the Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the KBR Murat Kardanov, the member of the Board of Trustees of the KBSU, the Assistant Plenipotentiary Representative President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasian Federal District Aidamir Valiev.
Deputy of the People’s Council of the Lugansk People’s Republic, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Lugansk State Pedagogical University Pavel Pilavov and rector of the Leningrad State Pedagogical University Zhanna Marfina presented the acting. Rector of KBSU Yury Altudov Diploma of the People’s Council of the Lugansk People’s Republic, which was awarded to the staff of the largest university in Kabardino-Balkaria for significant contribution and active participation in the organization of educational, scientific and extracurricular activities within the network of universities of the LPR and the Russian Federation.

Thanks to you, the fund of our libraries has been replenished, academic exchanges and advanced training courses for teachers are successfully taking place. Once again, with all my heart I want to wish the teachers, all staff and students good health and well-being. May the sky above our heads always be peaceful,” — Zhanna Marfina, rector of the Luhansk State Pedagogical University, wished those present.
Rector of KBSU Yuri Altudov spoke about the main milestones in the history of the development of the university and its current state.
«In 2022, the inhabitants of our region celebrate significant dates — the 100th anniversary of the statehood of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and the 90th anniversary of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov — a dynamically developing classical university, one of the leading multidisciplinary scientific and educational centers of the North Caucasus and the country. Currently, KBSU is successfully working on the fulfillment of the three main missions of modern higher education: educational, scientific, social, developing forms of interaction with Russian and foreign educational and scientific organizations, with business, government and society. The modern image of the university is made up of 10 institutes, 1 faculty, 4 colleges, 800 scientific and pedagogical workers, 18,000 students from 48 regions of Russia and 45 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, America study at the university», — Yuri Kambulatovich emphasized.
Summing up the activities for the coming period, Yuri Altudov noted that the university is constantly developing and the university’s strategic development program for the next decade is focused on ensuring the availability of high-quality higher and secondary specialized education, increasing the university’s contribution to the development of the region and the country as part of the implementation of the strategic academic leadership program » Priority 2030”, National Technological Initiative and Strategy for Social and Economic Development of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
