Release date: 01.08.2023

The project aimed at the development of the resort part of the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, students of the Institute of Architecture, Construction and Design of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov received approval from the mayor’s office of Nalchik. The guys developed the route of the eco-trail «Kizilovka» and navigation to it.

Astemir Shinakhov, the curator of the architectural festival «Children’s Platform», in the framework of which the project was conceived, told about how the work on the project went, its head, senior teacher of the department «Architectural design, design and DPI» of the IASiD KBSU, told:

Terrenkur is a very popular place among residents and visitors of the city. The guys conducted an analysis of the territory, were engaged in the optimization of existing pedestrian routes and the creation of new routes. The senior group climbed to the highest point of Nalchik — 999 m above sea level with a GPS tracker for the accuracy of the study. This data will also be used in the mobile application developed for this eco-trail. A study of the identity of the city was carried out and the main types of navigation were identified. Much attention was paid to the health-improving part of the eco-trail, the navigation and signs indicated data for health and physical activity. Together with the designer Ruslan Gashtov, the design and the general concept of the entire navigation of the trail were invented. A project of this magnitude is difficult to implement in 10 days. Therefore, after the end of the main program of the festival, we continued to work on the project. I am satisfied with the result, we have done a great deal of analytical and design work. There were many ideas. Managed to create a quality product.

Stanislav Kushchev, assistant of the Department of Economics and Management in Tourism, IMTiIG KBSU, became a consultant on the tourism component of the project.

10 kilometers of the route from the resort lake, then along the health path to the highest point — the top of Mount Nartia, the authors of the project divided into 4 parts. Stands with geographical maps and useful information about the area in the three state languages of Kabardino-Balkaria will be placed at these points. And with the help of QR codes, it will be possible to use foreign ones.

It is also planned to install about two dozen navigation poles. In the park — concrete, and in the forest — wooden, so that they organically fit into the landscape. The buildings will be decorated with national ornaments and mosaics.

The mayor of the city of Nalchik, Taimuraz Akhokhov, after meeting with the participants of the architectural festival in his telegram channel, commented on the project of students of the IASiD KBSU:

The project of future architects impressed us, and we are ready to implement it. I am glad that young residents of Nalchik are actively involved in the social life of the city, they are interested in urbanism and architecture. I am sure that in the future our children will grow up to be thoughtful, enthusiastic professionals who will reach great heights in their chosen industries.

It should be noted that the implementation of the project of students-architects of KBSU is scheduled for next year.
