Release date: 13.03.2023

March 2, 2023 at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov held a meeting with representatives of the Georgian diaspora «Rioni». This is already the fifth meeting within the framework of the project “It is easy to love all humanity, you better try to love your neighbour first”, implemented by the Center of Balkarian Culture named after K. S. Otarov.

The chairman of the Kabardino-Balkarian Fund of Culture named after V. Vorokov Luaza Makoeva and Chairman of the Georgian National Center «Rioni» Sergey Kabalashvili both came to talk with activists of the Center of Balkarian culture named after K. S. Otarov and students of the Pedagogical college.

Luaza Makoeva spoke about the activities of the KBR Cultural Foundation and national cultural centers, stressed that the foundation is developing a direction of work with young representatives of various nations, and called on KBSU students to join the events of the foundation. Sergey Kabalashvili spoke about the national composition of Georgia, geography, languages, religion and traditional costumes.

The students were interested in Georgian cuisine: how to cook khinkali, what other dishes are in the national cuisine. The guys were surprised that traditional khinkali should have 28 folds. In pagan times, it was believed that 28 was a sacred number, since the sun passes through a large circle of the celestial sphere in 28 years. The khinkali tail is the sun, and the folds are its rays.

Meetings with representatives of diasporas and national cultural centers within the framework of the project “It is easy to love all of humanity, to love your neighbor are smart” will continue on Thursdays at the Center for Balkarian Culture named after. K. S. Otarov.
