KBSU summed up the results of 2021

Berbekov, held under the chairmanship of the acting Rector Yuri Altudov, the results of the university’s activities for 2021 were summed up. At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the university held an award ceremony for distinguished representatives of the teaching staff. So, the departmental award of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation — the medal «For impeccable work and distinction» III degree — was awarded to Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Zaira Kharaeva. The Medal of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation «For Contribution to the Implementation of State Policy in the Field of Education» was awarded to Ibragim Khulaev, Associate Professor of Ibragim Khulaev, Director for SPO IASiD, Ph.D.

Nesmeyanov (President of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1951-1961). Further, within the framework of the agenda, acting Rector of KBSU reported on the results of the university’s work for 2021, noting that for a number of indicators, KBSU has strengthened its positions in the ratings of the best universities in the world and for the first time in its history entered in all 6 areas of the subject international ranking of the world’s leading universities Round University Ranking (RUR).

About 17 thousand students study within the walls of the university, including more than 1700 students from 46 countries of the world. One of the strategic goals of KBSU, Yuri Altudov called the expansion of the export of educational services, as well as improving the position of the university in the international scientific and educational community. The share of students on a budgetary basis in 2021 is 37%. 89% of the teaching staff and 55% of students are vaccinated against coronavirus. Today KBSU consists of 10 institutes, 1 faculty and 4 colleges. There are 6 dissertation councils in 9 specialties and 6 areas. The university publishes 4 scientific journals, 2 of which are included in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission. The number of university employees is more than 2 thousand people, the educational process is provided by more than 700 teaching staff, including 127 doctors of science and 408 candidates of science. The university implements 360 educational programs in the areas of training and specialties of secondary vocational and higher education, which is 10% of the growth rate in relation to 2020. Also, the head of the university announced the talent support system at KBSU, about working with schoolchildren as future applicants: This work had a positive effect on the quality of admission and made it possible to attract more 100-point and high-point students in 2021. The situation for 100-point students has improved compared to 2020.

The growth rate was 37.5%. The contingent of students with disabilities and disabilities has increased. For them, in all educational buildings of KBSU, with the exception of two, including one of the dormitories, a completely accessible environment has been created. In 2022, it is planned to continue work to ensure the accessibility of buildings and structures of KBSU for students with disabilities and people with disabilities (buildings of the State Institute of Geology, IPEiF and a building located on the territory of the botanical garden of KBSU. Yuri Altudov also named areas in which work needs to be strengthened. for example, at the end of 2021, there were 345 vacancies among students on a budgetary basis in general for KBSU (about 90% of them in engineering, mathematical and natural sciences). The employment rate of university graduates reached 65%, the main task is in 2022 year — to reach 69%. Our goal in the future is to correlate the number of graduates and employed, to achieve the maximum level of employment of graduates, — said Yuri Altudov. Also, the head of the university spoke about the need to increase the number of publications in the international databases Scopus and WoS, because low total number of publications creates obstacles for participation in competitions of the Russian Science Foundation, national projects that «Science» and the programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation «Priority 2030», the main goal of which is to form a group of universities that will become leaders in the creation of new scientific knowledge, technologies and developments for implementation in the Russian economy. In 2021, more than 2100 scientific papers were published. 194 are indexed in the international databases WoS and Scopus, which is 35% lower than the indicators of 2020. However, the number of articles in journals of the first and second quartiles in WoS and Scopus is increasing, and the number of publications in Q1 is 3 times more than in 2020. In 2021, 32 patents and 30 certificates for computer programs were received, standby 9 more patents and 12 certificates for computer programs are in progress.

Unfortunately, until now we have not learned how to use the potential of our patents, none of the currently valid patents has been commercially implemented, — said Yuri Altudov. In 2021, KBSU officially entered the world-class scientific and educational center «TulaTECH». The head of the university noted that the university budget in 2021 grew by almost 12%. The average salary at the end of the year exceeded 50 thousand rubles. The ratio of the average salary of the teaching staff of secondary vocational schools to the average salary in the region is 148%, in the HE — 250%, which is higher than the average for the North Caucasus Federal District. According to the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, KBSU belongs to the category of universities with a high level of financial management quality. The actual income from income-generating activities in 2021 exceeded 1.325 million rubles, which is 34% higher than the level of 2020. KBSU received additional funding in 2021, becoming a participant in the Priority-2030 program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Yuri Altudov recalled that the university was included in the group of universities that receive the basic part of the grant, but next year they will apply for a higher level of funding for this program. The university has noticeably improved its position in the media space. According to the SCAN-INTERFAX system of complex analysis of the media environment, the university confidently takes the 2nd place in the North Caucasus Federal District, second only to the NCFU, a similar situation is with the official telegram channel of the university. The success of the university is the result of the well-coordinated work of the university team — the teaching staff, employees of the administrative and managerial staff, all employees, — said the acting rector of KBSU.

Among the priority tasks for 2022, Yuri Kambulatovich named the implementation of strategic projects within the framework of the Priority-2030 program. In the direction of «Education»: — an increase in the average USE score of at least 67; — an increase in the employment of graduates by 69%; — modernization and expansion of basic educational programs and programs of continuing education. In the direction of «Research and innovation activities»: — preparation of applications for subsidies for all competitions and grants held by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, including Resolution No. 218. — increase in scientometric indicators by at least 1.3 times; — development and promotion of scientific research (technology transfer); — increasing the efficiency of small innovative enterprises at the university (SIE). In the direction of «Development of human capital» (the third mission of the university): — development of a program to support young scientists and teachers; — creation of conditions for high-quality professional development and professional retraining of employees and all comers; — further expansion of the «Boiling Point» project — creation of spaces for collective work — synchronization of educational, scientific and social activities of the university with the strategy of priority development of the region. At a meeting of the KBSU Academic Council about the preparation of events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of KBSU, which will be celebrated in the fall of 2022, the chairman of the trade union organization of the university Igor Kobozev said.

Tanzilya Makhiyeva, Director of the Department of SP NTI and NO, reported on the progress in the implementation of DPO programs as part of the implementation of activities of national projects and programs. For 2021, 563 continuing education programs were developed, as of December 27, their number at the university was 1336, there is a significant increase in general education programs. For the first time in the history of the university, activities within the framework of the federal project «Promotion of Employment» were implemented not only in the KBR, but also outside the region — Krasnodar Territory, — Tanzilya Makhieva emphasized. Within the framework of the «Priority 2030» program, the strategic project «Center for Support and Renewal of Competencies for the Development of the Economy of Kabardino-Balkaria and the North Caucasian Macroregion» is being implemented. 9068 people were trained under advanced training programs.
