Release date: 25.07.2023

Three student teams of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov successfully performed at the case championship «Socio-economic development of the North Caucasus Federal District-2023», initiated by the North Caucasus Federal University and the Kavkaz.RF corporation.

24 teams representing the universities of the North Caucasus and four individual participants came to Karachay-Cherkessia to take part in expert sessions in selected areas in the semi-finals of the case championship, study additional “soft skills” for project activities and successful performance, and prepare a final case solution for the final defense.

According to the idea of the organizers, the case championship is the creation of opportunities for self-realization of young people, involving them in the processes of solving regional and macro-regional problems, personal and career growth in the North Caucasus.

We look forward to the practical application of all developments. So that further, together with the NCFU and the Consortium of the North Caucasus Universities, with the governments of the regions, other development institutions, banks and businesses, we could offer the guys to work on solving the key tasks of the economy of the NCFD — unlocking the tourism potential, digitalization of banking services, infrastructure development, energy optimization. We are convinced and we know that such events are an excellent platform for the manifestation of their knowledge and skills, and our students have something to show and offer,

— Andrey Yumshanov, General Director of Kavkaz.RF, noted.

KBSU was represented at the case championship by the following teams:

– a team of the Institute of Law, Economics and Finance “Dear” (Alina Bogatyreva, Astemir Tyazhgov, Murat Tyazhgov, Aslanbek Mizov) under the guidance of Zalina Gergova, Ph.D.

– teams of the Institute of Management, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Conquerors of the Mountains (Aslan Chigirov, Disana Daurova, Yasmina Semenova, Azret Musukov and Children of the Mountains (Inar Inarokov, Liliana Nakhusheva, Omar Balaev, Maryana Goshokova) under the guidance of Ph.D., Associate Professor Leyla Baisultanova.

Project coordinator from KBSU Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Accounting and Analytical Information Systems of the IPEiF Leyla Guzieva.

The championship was held on four tracks: «Tourism Ecosystem and Hospitality Industry», «Technological Entrepreneurship Ecosystem», «Territory Management» and «Energy Complex Infrastructure».

The “Dear” team took part in the “Technological Entrepreneurship Ecosystem” track, the task of which was to develop a project for registering and launching a business using new technological products. The guys proposed a project to create a new product for Sberbank, namely a crowdfunding platform, which is a tool for financing local initiatives, contributing to the development of local entrepreneurship, the economy and innovation, drawing attention to the region and involving the local community in the development of the territory.

The teams «Conquerors of the Mountains» and «Children of the Mountains» declared themselves in the track «Tourism Ecosystem and Hospitality Industry», the task of which was to develop a project for the development of tourism in the Dzheirakhsky district of the Republic of Ingushetia. The teams proposed projects for the organization of a central hotel complex with navigation, information stands, a trekking web in the Dzheyrakhsky district and a development plan for the ethno-creative tourism industry.

Eight best projects made it to the finals of the case championship, among which were the projects of students of KBSU named after M. HM. Berbekov.

As a result of a hard struggle, the «Children of the Mountains» team in the track «Tourism and Hospitality Industry Ecosystem» took first place, becoming the champion in this direction, and the «Dear» team in the track «Technological Entrepreneurship Ecosystem» took second place.

And here are the testimonials of the participants of the case championship:

I really liked this case championship, the meeting with speakers and experts turned out to be informative and exciting, which creates a mood for further promotion and development in the field of tourism,

– noted the participant of the project Aslan Chigirov.

It was cool, big, interesting. I like it. I thought that we would just go to conquer the mountains, but in the end we conquered hearts,

– shared Mariana Goshokova.

Such events are an important part of the formation and development of the North Caucasus, we left good impressions, and we liked the fact that, although we were all in different teams, we supported each other like a family,

— said Omar Balaev.

Preparing for the preliminary competition for participation in the case championship, I think no one expected that it would be so cool, large-scale and leave us with so many impressions. We met many interesting people and exchanged knowledge and experience with them, which is the most important thing for us in our further development,

— says Lilianna Nakhusheva.

I would like to once again express my gratitude to the organizers of the case championship! The guys had the opportunity to prove themselves, get a very useful and valuable experience and knowledge that they will use in their professional activities. I hope that such case championships will be held annually and we will be invited to participate! I would like to note the high qualification, clear and professional work of the experts of the track «Ecosystem of Tourism and Hospitality Industry». With the support of the leadership of our university, it is possible to hold a similar case championship in our region,

— Leyla Baisultanova commented.

Case championships allow participants to gain practical skills, develop collective interaction and communication, improve analytical and presentation skills, get to know real business and create a network of useful contacts. This is a valuable experience that can help participants in their career and professional development,

— Zalina Gergova shared.
