Release date: 12.05.2023

The most exciting topics for students were discussed on May 10, 2023 at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov at an open meeting of student activists with vice-rectors. Representatives of the student community of all structural divisions of KBSU were finally able to directly ask the university management their questions: why did a new institute of management, tourism and hospitality industry emerge? Where will it be located?

What are the advantages of KBSU over other universities of the North Caucasus Federal District? What other transformations does the university expect? They came to answer questions.

Vice-Rector for Research, Professor, director of the Center for Advanced Materials and Additive Technologies of the KBSU Svetlana Hashirova, vice-rector for Strategic Development and International Relations Husein Kushkhov, vice-Rector for the organization of admission and pre-university activities, professor Arsen Haraev and vice-Rector for Personnel and Organizational and Legal Affairs, associate professor Murat Gukepshokov.

Foreign students were interested in whether they could stay to work in Kabardino-Balkaria after graduation. The guys were especially interested in changes in the appearance of KBSU, they asked: will the turnstiles inside the buildings be removed? Will the main building of KBSU be fenced off?

What other changes can be expected in the appearance of the university? One of the most pressing questions was raised from the audience: how will the structure of higher education change when Russian universities leave the Bologna system?

Arsen Haraev replied that there was no need to worry about this, the next enrollment at KBSU would be based on the previous system (4 years bachelor’s degree + 2 years master’s degree), and then, perhaps, there would be a transition to a five-year education system.

The organizers of the event, the Department for Youth Policy and Educational Work of the KBSU, reported that such a format of meetings would become traditional for students and university staff.
