KBSU student studied methods of countering extremist ideology
On November 20, 2020, at the site of the Kabardino-Balkarian College of Humanities and Technology, a seminar was held for managers of student projects and programs in order to improve competencies in the prevention of extremism among youth, the development of intercultural dialogue and patriotic work.
The seminar is one of the stages of the All-Russian educational and educational campaign for organizers of student life «We are for tradition, peace and security.»
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Minister of the KBR for the coordination of the activities of executive authorities in the field of prevention of extremism Zalim Kashirokov, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth Affairs of the KBR Achemez Mokayev and the head of the Department of the Center for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in KBR, Police Colonel Gali Tengizov.
They thanked the organizers for the opportunity to exchange experiences and opinions, study the positive practices of other constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the developments of the Center for the Prevention of Religious and Ethnic Extremism in Educational Organizations.
Yegor Yakorev, head of the campaign “We are for traditions, peace and security”, spoke about the importance of scaling up and developing the best social projects, as well as the need to apply a permanent approach to the prevention of destructive ideologies in the youth environment.
Managers of student projects from among students and employees of educational work bodies of the KBR took part in the seminar.
The speakers were experts from the Center for the Prevention of Religious and Ethnic Extremism in Educational Organizations of the Russian Federation, the Center for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the KBR, as well as representatives of the Campaign Directorate.
The seminar discussed and revealed the main directions of work of student associations, projects and programs aimed at fostering patriotism, preventing destructive ideologies and strengthening intercultural dialogue. The participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the technology of permanent multilevel prevention and the ways of its implementation in the daily activities of student communities.
The result of the event was the expansion of the base of effective practices for the prevention of destructive ideologies in the student environment, as well as the formation of proposals for improving the system of program and project activities of student associations.
The initiators of the campaign «We are for tradition, peace and security!» and the seminar became the Center for the Prevention of Religious and Ethnic Extremism in Educational Organizations of the Russian Federation with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Nationalities of the Russian Federation, Rosmolodezh and the Main Directorate for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The operators of the regional platform were the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Affairs of the KBR, Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov, the Center for Counteracting Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the KBR and the Kabardino-Balkarian Humanitarian and Technological College.
