Release date: 18.01.2021

On January 15, the deputy director of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov on the educational work of Leyli Baisieva with the students of the institute.

The teacher told the students that, unfortunately, the phenomenon of bribery, the so-called «bribery», has existed for a very long time and appeared along with the emergence of the state.

However, at present, bribery is a comprehensive and global problem that significantly violates the security of society and individuals, the principles of democracy and public administration, equality and social justice. Corruption should be understood as any illegal use of power in order to obtain benefits, contrary to the legitimate interests of citizens, society and the state, as well as the illegal provision of such benefits. The main harm of corruption and bribery lies in the fact that these phenomena actually «corrode» the state power, make it weak, feeble, and fictitious. Thus, the public’s confidence in it is lost. Without this resource, the authorities cannot carry out any full-fledged policy, any reforms. Unfortunately, corruption has become a common, everyday phenomenon, has acquired an all-encompassing, epidemic character. The most famous forms of corruption: bribery; embezzlement; red tape when the case is deliberately delayed in order to receive a bribe; extortion; favoritism, when pets are appointed to high positions, despite the fact that they have neither the ability nor the appropriate knowledge; abuse of office. As you know, most of the population of Russia considers bribery to be a negative phenomenon, but at the same time, every third person at least once in his life, but gave a bribe: candy to a doctor, teacher, money to a traffic police inspector, etc. But it’s one thing when this is a one-time fact, which has the form of gratitude, and another, when a person is sure that everything in this world is bought and sold. And this is the road to nowhere. A good illustration of the deplorable consequences of such a pernicious philosophy is the comedy of the Soviet period «You — me, I — you», when, through the fault of the twin brother of the head of the Rybnadzor, who was used to living by this principle, an ecological catastrophe almost occurred.» — Leila Baysieva told the students.

Then, together with the audience, they discussed some ways to combat bribery. Among them, the dissemination of information, including in social networks, in the media, about the subversive impact of bribery on the state system, in particular on the education system, showing various commercials explaining how to get qualifying assistance from a specialist who will tell you what to do if you are forced give a bribe. It would be nice, the guys thought, to ridicule the bribe-takers, depicting them on various posters and in cartoons. These methods of fighting corruption are quite accessible to young people.

As a result, the participants in the conversation agreed that it is necessary to fight not only with those who take a bribe, but also with those who give. And the fight against corruption is everyone’s business.
