KBSU Realizes A Project On Increasing Financial Literacy

More than 400 students of pedagogical specialties of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekova were trained under the program «Assistance to increase the level of financial literacy of the population and the development of financial education in the Russian Federation.» The effectiveness of this work KBSU staff reported in Moscow.

On January 30–31, 2019, the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference on the exchange of experience in teaching students of pedagogical specialties in the teaching of financial literacy courses in general, secondary vocational and additional education institutions in the Russian Federation took place in Moscow: “Pedagogical approaches in the field of financial literacy, its teaching methods various target groups: the experience and decisions of the participants in the project of the Ministry of Finance of Russia ”, which was attended by representatives of the Institute of Law, Economics and Finance Finance of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov.

The forum discussed the results of training of students of pedagogical training; They also talked about drawing the attention of heads of educational organizations and the teaching community to the need to introduce methods of teaching financial literacy in organizations of general, secondary vocational and additional education in the Russian Federation. The conference commented on an action plan for the implementation of a strategy to improve financial literacy in the Russian Federation for 2017–2023. in the part of the educational component.

At the conference, key presentations were made by representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Russia, educational organizations implementing training programs for students of pedagogical specialties, including developers of relevant teaching materials, in the framework of the Project of the Ministry of Finance of Russia and the World Bank in various regions of our country.

Deputy directors of the Institute of Law, Economics and Finance Zhanna Mirzoeva and Zalina Shogentsukova made a presentation “Experience in teaching financial literacy to students of pedagogical areas of training in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic on the basis of FSBEI HE“ Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov passed a competitive selection among higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation (protocol No. 1 dated October 30, 2018) to conduct a “second wave” of training under contract No. FEFLP / QCBS-3.22 “Teaching students of pedagogical specialties how to teach financial literacy courses in general, secondary vocational institutions and additional education in the Russian Federation «, implemented from November 2018 to January 2019. As part of the project, more than 400 students of pedagogical specialties at KBSU underwent training at KBSU. Director of the Institute of Law, Economics and Finance, Ph.D., Associate Professor Murat Hasanbievich Gukespshokov acted as the project manager from KBSU.

The project is carried out under the auspices of the joint project of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the World Bank “CONTRIBUTION TO IMPROVING THE LEVEL OF FINANCIAL LITERACY OF THE POPULATION AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF FINANCIAL EDUCATION IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION”.
