Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov participated in the 26th International Forum «HR EXPO PRO PEOPLE,» which took place on June 18-19, 2026, in Moscow. Zurab Berelidze, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at the university’s Institute of Management, Tourism, and Hospitality, was among the key experts on the forum’s business program.

During an expert discussion on the prospects for developing tourism and quality-of-life-oriented regions, a speaker from Kabardino-Balkarian State University presented the university’s project to create a human-centered development model for the Elbrus region.

The project envisions the creation of a new development model for a tourist region centered on people—local residents, entrepreneurs, tourism industry employees, and visitors to the region. Forum participants were presented with approaches developed by KBSU experts aimed at creating a balance between the industry’s economic growth and the interests of local communities.

HR EXPO PRO PEOPLE has traditionally been one of Russia’s largest expert platforms dedicated to the development of human capital, leadership, and modern management models. In 2026, the forum brought together over 3,000 participants—representatives of federal government agencies, major Russian companies, leading universities, and the expert and scientific community. Federal ministers, heads of government agencies, rectors of leading Russian universities, and representatives of business and the professional HR community participated in the discussions. Key topics on the agenda included human-centeredness, developing future competencies, the impact of artificial intelligence, the transformation of education, and improving labor productivity.
