KBSU Opens Its Doors to Prospective Students
Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov opened its doors to high school graduates from the republic for two days.
Today, the students were able to visit all of the university’s institutes, as well as the Medical Academy, meet with faculty, and learn more about the educational programs offered.
Tomorrow, April 30, the university welcomes ninth-graders who plan to continue their studies at KBSU colleges in their secondary vocational education programs.
As Fatima Tkhazeplova, Head of the Career Guidance Department, noted, the dates, when the academic year is in full swing, were specifically chosen so that prospective students could see firsthand how university students live and develop. The interest was so great that an additional day had to be added for them to get to know the university.
«A record number of schoolchildren from across the republic registered for the Open Days. Over the two days, approximately 700 students in grades 9 and 11 will visit the university. KBSU has much to offer potential applicants. The university possesses all the necessary resources for high-quality higher and secondary vocational education. It is especially worth noting that KBSU boasts a strong academic school, providing students with unique opportunities to conduct research and develop new technologies.
The university has created all the conditions for the comprehensive development of students – from a high-quality academic education to an active extracurricular life, including scientific clubs, sports sections, and creative associations. Most importantly, KBSU graduates are in demand in the labor market and successfully realize their potential in various fields,” emphasized Fatima Tkhazeplova.
According to her, programs related to medicine, dentistry, and law are particularly popular among high school students. Interest in teaching, engineering, construction, architecture, IT, and tourism is also growing.
The students observed university life with great interest, asking questions of faculty and students, trying to learn not only about their studies but also about extracurricular activities.
Dinara Balkarova, a student at Nartkala Lyceum No. 1, shared her dream of becoming a dentist.
«I’m working hard to prepare for my exams, and I’m working with tutors in chemistry and biology. I’m grateful to KBSU for the opportunity to visit the university and see everything with my own eyes. It helps me better understand what I want to achieve,» Dinara shared.
Daria Kulyash, from School No. 9 in Nalchik, dreams of becoming a psychologist. She’s taking extra classes to successfully pass the Unified State Exam (USE) and hopes to achieve high scores.
«The teachers have given me a solid foundation, and I think I can enroll at KBSU,» Daria says.
Her friend Fatima Urusmambetova plans to pursue a career in medicine and is also actively preparing for her exams.
«I dream of becoming a good surgeon and will do everything possible to achieve this goal,» Fatima says. Open Days help schoolchildren better understand the opportunities KBSU offers them, meet faculty and students, see the modern facilities, and experience the atmosphere of student life. This is an excellent opportunity to make an informed choice of career and educational path.
