KBSU Joins the «Youth Blood Donation Cup» All-Russian Contest
On October 2, over 50 students and staff members from Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU) participated in a major blood drive as part of the All-Russian contest «Youth Blood Donation Cup: Donor of a United Country.»
The contest aims to promote voluntary blood donation among young people, dispel outdated stereotypes, and foster a culture of responsibility regarding helping others. «Donor of a United Country» is more than just a competition between universities; it is a true reflection of the unity, compassion, and civic maturity of the youth.
«It is important to emphasize that today’s event is not a one-off occurrence but the logical outcome of systematic work. Blood donation has long been a cherished university tradition at KBSU.
Since the beginning of 2026 alone, 12 blood drives have been held at KBSU. Over the past months, more than 400 people—including students, faculty, and staff—have become donors. The donated blood and blood components have repeatedly helped patients in critical situations,» commented Damir Khabalov, head of the KBSU «Dobro.Center» (Center for Social Development).
The event was primarily organized by the KBSU «Dobro.Center.» Volunteers from the center welcomed participants, conducted an information campaign, explained the preparation guidelines for donation, and ensured a comfortable experience for donors at the blood transfusion station.
The university regularly supports blood donation initiatives and creates opportunities for students and staff to engage in volunteer activities.
