KBSU Joins the Competition for the Youth Donor Cup

Release date: 20.04.2026

The morning of April 20, celebrated in Russia as National Donor Day, began with a noble mission for the staff of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. KBSU joined the all-Russian competition «Youth Donor Cup: Donor of the United Country.»

Beslan Nazranov, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy, Educational Work, and Social Issues at KBSU; Rezuan Kumykov, Head of the Department of Youth Policy and Social Issues; and dozens of active university students participated in the voluntary blood donation.

The all-Russian competition «Youth Donor Cup: Donor of the United Country» was launched by the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia jointly with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The project aims to popularize blood and bone marrow donation among young people and create a community of active, informed citizens.

The competition will run until October 15, 2026. Students and staff of universities aged 18 to 35 are eligible to participate. University rankings are based on the principle that the more active a university is, the higher its position in the overall ranking.

In addition to the team competition, participants have the opportunity to prove themselves in the individual category «Mission: Donor,» which requires joining the Federal Bone Marrow Donor Registry and making several donations. Special categories are also available for the most creative article authors and event organizers.

The following will be counted toward the competition: donor days organized by KBSU, individual donations by students and faculty, creative events, flash mobs, art installations, and information campaigns on social media and in the media.

«It is important that each activity be accompanied by publications with the mandatory hashtags #DonorOfUnitedCountry and #FMBA_Donor_Cup.» «This will allow us to record our university’s contribution to the overall ranking,» explained Damir Khabalov, head of the KBSU Dobro.Center public development center.
