Release date: 01.11.2023

According to the Global Aggregated Ranking, published annually by the Guild of Experts in the Field of Professional Education, Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov entered the group of universities that make up the best 15% of universities in the world (in total there are 4000 participants in the group — educational organizations, of which 50 are Russian universities).

The global aggregate ranking is a classification of higher education institutions ranked according to 13 rankings and one public database — DEQAR (database of external quality assurance reports, which is maintained by the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education EQAR).

DEQAR is expanding access to quality assurance reports and decisions on higher education institutions that have been externally audited for ESG by an EQAR-registered agency. The source of information used for aggregation is open data from the most popular rankings: THE – Times Higher Education World University Rankings, QS World University Rankings, ARWU – Academic Ranking of World Universities, Moscow International Ranking “Three University Missions”, Round University Ranking (RUR ) – global ranking of higher educational institutions, SCImago Institutions Rankings – global ranking of scientific institutions, etc.

Among the indicators taken into account when compiling the ratings are scientific activity, the university’s activities in the international educational arena, the university’s involvement in educational activities, the quality of the website, and others.

When ranking higher education organizations, the MetaLeague methodology is used, based on the application of the mathematical apparatus of the theory of voting in small groups, which allows the aggregation of various independent assessments into a single format.

The MetaLeague methodology involves presenting assessment results in league format. KBSU is included in the league of 15%, which consists of 3,627 universities from 132 countries, including 153 of the best universities in Russia.

The developed ranking methods and the results obtained can be useful for self-diagnosis and activation of scientific, organizational and methodological activities of universities, as well as when using a risk-based approach in control and supervisory activities.
