KBSU is a leader in the North Caucasus Federal District in the field of research

The RUR (Round University Ranking) agency in partnership with Clarivate has presented the next World University Rankings, in which the performance of universities is assessed on the basis of 20 indicators in 4 key areas of activity: teaching, research, international cooperation, financial sustainability.

In 2021, in the RUR ranking in natural sciences (Natural Science), Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov took 642nd place in the world. Among 62 Russian universities included in the RUR rating, KBSU is in 54th place.

In terms of the quality of scientific research, KBSU took the 657th position in the world ranking and entered the Top 50 Russian universities (49th place), becoming the leader among higher education institutions located in the North Caucasian Federal District.

The RUR ranking, designed to provide up-to-date information about world higher education to interested parties (students, the academic community, university leaders, politicians, education managers), assesses the effectiveness of more than 700 leading higher education institutions in the world. Over 11 years of compiling the ranking, 1100 leading universities from 85 countries took part in it.
