KBSU in the project «Code of the Future» of the national program «Digital Economy of the Russian Federation»
Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov was among the participants in the Code of the Future project to provide schoolchildren in grades 8-11 with the opportunity to take an additional two-year course in modern programming languages. The goal of the project is to create opportunities for the formation of digital competencies among the inhabitants of the country, starting with high school students, who are in demand by the labor market.
«Code of the Future» is a new component of the federal project «Development of human resources in the IT industry» of the national program «Digital Economy of the Russian Federation», implemented by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. The operator of the «Code of the Future» project is the autonomous non-profit organization «University of the National Technology Initiative 20-35».
On December 2, 2022, the district session «Code of the Future: Prospects for the Development of the Project in the North Caucasus Federal District» began at KBSU. Representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation take part in the event: Tatyana Erokhina, Head of the Department for Coordinating Regional Digitalization of the Department for Coordinating Programs and Projects of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, as well as employees of the Department for the Implementation of the Federal Project «Development of Human Resources in the IT Industry» — Director Elena Demidova, head of the department for work with the regions Anna Senchikhina, curator for the work of the executive authorities of the subjects Lyudmila Ivanyuk.
The participants of the session with the main platform at the «Boiling Point» of the KBSU were representatives of the operator of the «Code of the Future» project — the University of the National Technology Initiative 20.35, ANO «Digital Economy», providers of this project, authorities and educational institutions of the subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District, management, employees of the Berbekov KBSU .
“Participation in the project is open to schoolchildren. Among the 21 providers are leaders in the field of additional education in teaching children of different ages to program, who train qualified personnel. More than 240 thousand applications have already been submitted, which is a great potential for development,” — said Elena Demidova.
Addressing the audience with a welcoming speech (online), Tatyana Erokhina noted:
“The IT industry is one of the most important areas for the development of our country. We really hope that the study of modern programming languages can become an incentive for schoolchildren to connect their future professional activities with the IT field. To date, more than 114 thousand people have already been enrolled for training, and, of course, this is the result of our joint work.” The Minister of Digital Development of the KBR, a graduate of the KBSU Islam Ashkhotov expressed his opinion about the important role of the KBSU as a driver of the digital development of the region:
“A new direction of development is emerging in Kabardino-Balkaria: the digital republic. The Human Resources Program for the Digital Economy was launched a few years ago. All activities related to global digital transformation are meaningless if we do not have a sufficient level of personnel qualification. We have many different algorithms and techniques. The Code of the Future program allows you to involve children in the learning process as quickly as possible. We have an idea to create an IT park, we have identified a point on the territory of KBSU, next to the Botanical Garden. The implementation of the project will create jobs in the field of IT technologies and implement plans for the digital promotion of the region.”
Rector Yury Altudov expressed his gratitude to his colleagues from Moscow, the organizers of the meeting — representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation and the operator of the «Code of the Future» project — the University of the National Technology Initiative 20-35.
“For us, participation in this project is a special responsibility, a special understanding that our republic, the entire North Caucasus macroregion must develop at a faster, faster pace. We are grateful to everyone who supported the KBSU initiative to participate in the «Code of the Future» project. We are responsible for the future of children who tomorrow will build the country’s politics and economy, engage in its social development. This is one of the difficult tasks that the country’s leadership sets before us. We will all be richer, stronger, if we invest confidence in children who will determine what will happen tomorrow. I wish everyone who is involved in solving this difficult noble task good luck, success, and we all desire to work,” — Yuri Altudov said.
Adam Badiev, General Director of Advanced Information Systems LLC, Ilyas Taaev, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Chechen Republic, spoke about how the Code of the Future project was launched in neighboring regions.
Head of the Department for Support of NTI Projects and Continuing Education Tanzilya Makhieva, speaking about the project implementation plan at the largest university in the region, recalled that KBSU, a participant in the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership program, has extensive experience in successfully implementing various federal programs and projects, attracting to participation in them of inhabitants of all federal districts of the Russian Federation. In particular, the University has a «Digital Department». This is a project initiated by Russian IT companies. Its main task is to saturate the labor market with young professionals with a high level of IT competencies. Programming skills necessary for further professional activity at KBSU are received by students of various areas of training — not only «techies», but also naturalists, humanities …
Tanzilya Makhieva emphasized: «For the first time in the country, we are holding such a strategic session on the project «Code of the Future». It was organized by KBSU on the initiative of the Minister of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadaev.
We passed the competitive selection and became a provider among 21 educational institutions, including 7 universities. Our task is to educate several thousand schoolchildren of the country. At the moment, we have registered and attracted about a thousand (students), schoolchildren from 67 subjects of the country. This is a very good indicator of the geographical presence of our university. In addition, together with VolGTU, within the framework of network interaction, we train about 700 students from 40 schools in our region.
For several years, KBSU has been participating in the implementation of the activities of the national program «Digital Economy of the Russian Federation».
If earlier adults from Kabardino-Balkaria and other regions of the country were involved in them, now the age range has expanded, and schoolchildren in grades 8-11 will be able to study free of charge in two-year programming courses. KBSU specialists have developed two programs on the basics of programming — «Algorithmization of the basics of programming» (basic level) and «Data mining in the modern Python language» (advanced level).
Each program consists of four modules of 36 academic hours. With the assistance of providers «Algorithmika», «1C: Education» and JSC «Academy «Prosveshchenie»» our possibilities are practically unlimited. The well-known 1C company has been developing, publishing and supporting computer programs, business and home databases, as well as computer games for more than a decade. The Algorithmika Programming School for Children (Moscow) has been operating for more than five years, teaching children programming languages that are in demand and helping them take a step towards their future profession.
It is pleasant to note that KBSU participates in the Code of the Future project among the leading universities and digital educational platforms of the country, such as the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman, Russian Economic University. G.V. Plekhanov, Russian New University (RosNOU), VolgGTU, Yandex, Innopolis, Synergy,” — said Tanzilya Makhieva.
As part of the event held at KBSU, two project sessions were held. Representatives of providers held blitz presentations of their companies. The participants of the strategic session made a tour of the university, including visiting the centers of the Adyghe, Balkar and Russian culture, where there are exhibitions of traditional national costumes and handicrafts made by students and teachers of the KBSU College of Design. On December 3, more than a hundred schoolchildren of Kabardino-Balkaria will take part in the excursion «Journey through digital technologies of KBSU».
The itinerary list includes such locations as the University Management Center, Boiling Point, VR class, the Center for Public Initiatives, the Center for Advanced Materials and Additive Technologies, as well as the Simulation Center of the Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery of KBSU. Surova Nadezhda Yuryevna, Director of the Competence Center «Digital Economy» of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, will give a lecture «On the professions of the future based on IT». Master classes will be held by representatives of the providers of the project «Code of the Future»: Russian New University, LLC «Mobile e-education»; Volgograd State Technical University»; PEI DPO «1C-Education»; UMAKS LLC, brand «Maxsimum Education»; Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after A.I.
