Release date: 08.07.2026

On July 8, a concert dedicated to Family, Love and Fidelity Day was held in the square in front of KBSU’s main building. The event brought together students, faculty, applicants, residents, and visitors to Nalchik.

Zalina Gergova, Head of the Educational Work Department at KBSU, opened the celebration:

«Family is the foundation on which society is built. It is in the family that respect for elders, love for one’s neighbor, and spiritual guidance are ingrained. Today’s holiday, established by the President of Russia, reminds us that preserving traditional values is a shared responsibility of the state, society, and each of us. It is gratifying that the university remains a platform where we not only impart knowledge but also foster intergenerational continuity and strengthen friendship between peoples. We wish you strong families, peace, and prosperity!»

The central part of the program was a reenactment of wedding ceremonies of the three titular peoples of Kabardino-Balkaria.

Activists from the A.A. Tsipinov Adyghe Culture Center performed the «uneishe» ceremony—the bride’s introduction to the groom’s relatives and her introduction to her new home, accompanied by ancient songs. The K.S. Otarov Balkar Culture Center recreated the «au algan adet» ceremony—the removal of the bride’s five white headscarves. Each headscarf had a sacred meaning: it symbolized openness, a willingness to work, and the beginning of a new family life.

Representatives from the Scientific and Educational Center for Russian Language and Culture presented the Cossack ritual «The Last Day of Matchmaking,» demonstrating the colorful stages of the marriage contract and the allegorical conversations between the matchmakers.

The hosts kept the audience entertained: the audience recalled the names of family ties (brother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law) and guessed flower riddles. The chamomile, a symbol of Family, Love, and Fidelity Day, was featured both in the design and in the quiz questions.

The evening concluded with a musical performance by the international, large Khusinov family—Anzor, Zamira, and their children. They performed their original composition, «My Home, My Family.»
